Nice but I think it isn't good that the water colour isn't the same in the two layers on the background.

Comments and Suggestions are welcome.[/quote] I'll be honest and I don't mean to put it down but, I'm not too fond of it, I see details yes, but it just looks moldy and old (Unless it's ment to look like that?), if your going for something abit more bright, sunny and beautiful, maybe change the colours abit (give them more contrast and use a different colour to that purple/grey)
Just wanted a bit of input about the art in these two zones before I carry on and complete it, just incase there is room for improvement: Lush Lake: Rock Ruin (Background disabled): The thing behind Sonic is a blue metal fence mesh. I need to add a touch of shading.
I positively adore how bright the blue is Lush Lake. Same with the green too, actually- they really give off that 'lush' feel. Fix the shadow that the grass casts (make it follow the shape of the grass) and add a transition from water to sky at the furthest off point in the background. You may also want to make the dark shades in the grass darker because at present they blend too much with the lighter parts.
I have decided to make a pallet hack of Sonic 2. I didn't change the color of Sonic this time and nor do I plan to, but I also changed the names of each level and the order. So far this is what I have and please feel free to post your opinions. BTW I am planning on changing the pallet color for Fire Path Zone. And I'm thinking about naming it Sonic's 2nd Adventure.
You should try and change more than just the palette (that means at the very least new level layouts); simple palette hacks went out of style literally in about 2002. Also, the palettes you have in place hurt my eyes (moreso for Neo Green Hill than Fire Path, though Fire Path could also use improvement). It's a good start, though, if you're new to hacking; you should just flesh it out more. The way it is now, I don't see it getting a very positive reception when released.
What Sonic 65 said. Practice with your current editor if you have one, like SonED2, though there are better ones for beginners. Once you play around with the existing chunks, graduate to create your own chunks with blocks, then try to create new art entirely.
