My intent with Grand Gardens is to make grown men cry. Rings are scant, everything is trying to kill you, and you have to earn the right to use a Star Post. Those spikes in the top right? The bottom ones retract, giving you half a second to run through. The left end is the room in the screenshot below. Well, at least lives are generous. You'll need them.
I am positively thrilled. Finally I was able to port art sucessfully from a pcx file using a custom palette without any issues. Yes, some of the text is black but that should be a simple fix...I mean the rings used to be green after all and I fixed that. My test art was as you can see, the 2D special stage of Sonic Triple Trouble. I have more art like the waterfalls already in the hack, I just need to make chunks for them. Yeah, trying to learn and work on windows stuff without windows at home stinks. Things go more slowly than I like to. I know stuff like this is second nature to you, but please remember I am trying to figure this out myself with limited times to try.
There is so much sand in your vagina these days it's worrying. Hez is supposed to be the cynical bastard, not you.

Might aswell show something I worked more on yesterday: The art isn't final, but if people think it fits with the rest of it then I may decide to keep it XD

Would be very interesting if you can transport the anime-style to the rest of the screen. Greetz aero
The Grass is made by Hez and the Green Hills made by me. What do you think? I think it gives it a more isolated feel, wich is a part of the story.

I am now noticing that Mario and Sonic use the same colors. Also did you do regular colors, then take the underwater palette and swap it to make things have a green hue, like from city lights and/or give it a night feel just for this level? Regularly, Sonic would be just as bright in daytime as he is in nighttime, but if you use the underwater palette you can darken everything, even Sonic just for that level. Pretty interesting concept.
