Had you not bought those 3 consoles you would be able to get one of the consoles third parties DO like to develop games for. :v:

Any word on when this will be released yet? I probably won't buy it, but I'll certainly download the demo (quality free stuff and all).

Pretty sure that all we know is that it's sometime this year.

I meant is there a more specific frame yet? I'm guessing not.

Also, hopefully this means SA2B and its clearly superior Chao system will be coming sometime in the future as well.

Instant money makers. If they can, it would be stupid not to tap into that.

Really? Are you all really expecting meaningful enhancements out of this?

    Banjo-Tooie would like a word.

30 FPS with slowdowns? No 16:9? Ugly gloss?

Fuck, you can keep this port. I HAVE a GameCube.

I hope this isn't the final version and that they're going to fix the slowdown issues. (and improve the framerate, my PC can run it higher than 30fps.)

I'm disappointed. I would've preffered the actual DC graphics, prefferably with widescreen.
Then again, I can do that on my PC :v:

No widescreen makes this game epic;y pointless.

While I'm no longer expecting it for this game, the XBLA re release of VOOT had online mutliplayer and sharper textures, and was updated post release with bloom lighting and soft shadows.

  12. Yeah, the reason I was hoping this would be good is -because- the XBLA port of VOOT was such a masterpiece.

In it's current stage, SADX seems to be yet another example of Sega telling Sonic fans "we don't care for quality control on these."

I used Banjo-Tooie because Rare are seemingly as inept as Sonic Team... or Backbone, in this case... at not taking full advantage of the hardware for these things. Example: Banjo-Tooie was largely redone from the ground up for the XBLA. It lacks any sort of online multiplayer despite having a simple FPS mode akin to Goldeneye and Perfect Dark and take advantage of Bottles' Revenge.

I will give Rare credit, though. They actually bothered to spitshine the game to a smooth 60 fps with some rare lag and the game supports 16:9 display. This is just laziness so far, but as others have said, it's unsure if this is close to final or not. But if it is Backbone handling this, it's not illogical to assume this is pretty close to final—beta state, even.

    Doesn't Backbone only do emulation?

I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a half-assed version of the PC version being "emulated" on the 360.

The correct term is ported but yes, this is just sadxpc running on potentially better hardware. This is better from a hacking/modding standpoint than anything else. Hopefully they take advantage of DLC to extend replay value, but they won't. I would die and go to heaven if they released a tool that allowed you to compile new level binaries and play them from the xbox HDD. If you're reading sega, please do this for SA and SA2. You could effectively triple the game's lifespans.

If you live in Europe and don't plan to download your games, just don't bother. The PAL version just can't be switched to 60Hz, and even the music plays slower, a là Sonic 1.

And my envy for the Xbox 360 owners has disappeared.

If this is all they're giving us, I could have the exact same shit on my PC.

Except moddable, like our boys in E&RE have shown quite nicely.
