I was going to say, "That's just a nendoroid thing," but looking at the other figures, they're a bit more even in how they adapt the designs to that SD style. Personally, I don't like the Sonic that much which is why I wouldn't buy the Tails even though I think that one looks decent.
I'm also thinking I'll buy this one, although I now have so many that I'm seriously starting to worry my chrome/glass shelving unit will collapse under the pressure. I normally only buy the classic ones, but this is sort of... "Classic becomes Modern", so I can make that exception I think. It's also a tragedy F4F never made a Classic Amy; the collection is incomplete without her.
On the one hand, I respect them committing to recreating the bad 90's texture surrounding the logo. On the other hand, this thing would've been sick with a more neutral stand.

Ordered mine this morning. I was provided 2 coupons for this and neither of them worked, but I figured it wasn't worth the effort to be reimbursed. Anyone else pick one up or have an issue using the coupons?
A random but interesting observation nonetheless; Certain places (in this case the website https://geekyzone.co.uk) sell a product called the… ‘Sonic The Hedgehog Comic On’s Wall Decoration - Sonic And Miles Tails Prower’. Here’s a photo from their website: Now check out SEGA’s official store: This leads me to the conclusion that the first one is an earlier prototype, as I’ve seen these in shops and the Official SEGA Shop one is definitely the one. I doubt there’s variations but I guess I could be wrong (I doubt it). The first one looks quite like a lot of the mid-late 1990’s to 2000’s classic Sonic art that appeared on merch repeatedly. Quite the fine mix of classic and modern design elements. Why couldn't the characters remain as such from now on?
I got a hold of the Jakks Pacific Infinite figure and I'm pretty impressed with it. He even comes with the Phantom Ruby; I also added the Shadow figure that has multiple arms to my collection. I really like this set. It's very on-model and well-made. Here he is out of the box with the Sonic and Amy from the same line; All I'm missing is Tails and Knuckles.
