About this kind of stuff, I used to have some Sonic Perfume... I always wanted to know what level was on the box... (Edit: just some random pic found on the web, I don't have it anymore) But it looks like it's just Oil Ocean...
Not exactly the right place, but it is art, and seeing as we're a major Sonic community, some of you may be VERY interested. I stumbled upon this whilst browsing; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SONIC-3-PROMOTIONAL-...=item3f0ba9e06f Someone ought to get their hands on that. I would but I'd have nowhere to put it. How awesome.
What wonderful timing... Official UK Based Sonic Merchandise Shop Coming Soon! The page right now is just a placeholder that says "Coming Soon...", but a little while ago you could sign up for their newsletter. AAUK has confirmed that this is the real deal and that they were also the people in charge of the merchandise tables back at SoS this year. What they'll have for sale is anyone's guess, but they are open to suggestions. Also this cool dude is popping up over eBay and YJA at the moment. Seeing as it's a really nice figure exclusively available at Joypolis in Japan, now's probably you're only chance to get him at non horrendous prices and brand new. Cas from SSMB has just done a really nice unboxing video. I've bought one and am just waiting for it to arrive now.
A thread to post your Sonic merchandise? Sweet! I'll bite. I have tons more. But I think I posted enough for one day!
Sorry for the crappy quality, but we all know the DSi camera isn't exactly great. These are my only pieces of Sonic merch, unfortunately. The smaller Sonic plush is from the days when Denny's promoted Sonic. The bigger one I was told is a prize from a Busch Gardens game, but we bought it along with a huge-ass Donkey Kong plush at a Yardsale for a couple of bucks. I used to have some Sonic Adventure bendable figures as well. I bought them from a Blockbuster. It was a huge set - it came with Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Amy, 5 rings and 7 chaos emeralds. Anyone who has bought these before knows that they are of questionable quality - Sonic's arms broke if they bent too much, and Tails' tails snapped off after awhile. Still, they were pretty cool. If I wasn't an ignorant little kid when I got them, I'd have kept them boxed up.
I still have that. CIB as a matter of fact. And the Sonic Mini-Pinball Machine that was mentioned in the Rare Artwork thread CIB.
Ok, I will repost this here because apparently it didn't belong in the rare art topic: Sonic Drink Sonic Coffee Ski Cap (this stuff is not mine.)
Only Sonic related stuff we have are this: Few are at my parents such as this: I also had a t shirt somewhere with Sonic on it and some Sonic stickers.
I've had a Sonic & Knuckles shop display since I stole it from Debenham's in 1994. Got this one. I'll scan it when I eventually buy a special book scanner (Plustek OpticBook).
I've been meaning to create a thread like this for ages now! Boy have I got a lot of really old classic stuff to show you that I've kept in a scrap book for literally years! - Starting with these (I must've spilled something where Sonic is on the first one there btw - it's not a printing error or anything):
I found these Energy Drink cans featuring Mega Man's E-Tank, Classic Sonic, and Mario at a merchandise shop at Japan Town in San Fransisco. Unopened.
Everyone needs a Chao! It even comes with a nametag. It's name is Sprinkles, which is of course short for Sprinkles-lor, Gobbler of Worlds. Not exactly merchandise, since it's one of a kind. My friend made it years ago when we were obsessed with Sonic Adventure 2.
I got my 20th Anniversary Joypolis figure today. He much taller and heavier than I imagined, and the sculpt is fantastic. You can see some seams here and there, but nothing major and he's really brilliant, even more so considering he's just supposed to be a prize from a machine. The only real problem is his mouth, which is just that strange upper lip making him look worried or something, like with the S4 art. I paid £66 including p&p, and was lucky enough to avoid all in extra taxes and charges. Decided to take some comparison shots of the Joypolis figure and the MadCatz charger. The Joypolis one is far superior. He's made out of matt, solid plastic while the MatCatz one is soft, rubbery, horribly shiny and very dark. There are also sculpt problems with the MadCatz one- a very flat head, his lower centre spine is misaligned and he has Riders style arms and legs (they get really thick toward his wrists/ankles).
Everything about this Image is what I currently want at the moment. It's just me being paranoid about blowing my money before my final year of University, and moving out to live on my own for the first time. The Joyopolis Statue is £66. I've been very interested in buying that, considering I have the 10th Anniversary SA2 with Japan Seal / Sticker on it still. As well as the 15th anniversary statue with certificate. The Charger I can get from Amazon.com and import it to the UK. However, that comes to £35. It would be practical for me though, as I do need Wii Chargeable batteries... That Sonic CD. Complete. They just don't seem to sell for less than £20 on eBay and I really want a Japanese / European version for the Soundtrack too! (To rip to say, my Xbox or whatnot) Something not on that image though would be the Jazware Sonic 10" 12 Points of Articulation Figurine. I have the Metal Sonic one, and would love the corresponding / same size / poseable Sonic version of it to go with my Metal Sonic. But this is £25 too, or at least doesn't get cheaper than that considering it's imported from the US on eBay. EDIT: Also, the display in the original post sold for £60. Pretty impressive.
Sonic 20th Anniversary Figure for sale on eBay. So if you ever wanted one, now's your one and maybe only chance. 7 days left to bid and it's already at $408.
I'm pretty sure by any collector's standards of any memorabilia that that is a stupidly expensive. Heck, I'm pretty sure Star Wars collectors of say, original mint light-sabers or whatever gets their motor running, would look at that statue and price and think "what." I certainly am, and I'm no Star Wars collector nor fan. I just don't get it. I mean, sure its collection and rarity ect. but, ehhh. I'll stick to that Joyopolis one thanks.
