I don't think they would unless they really wanted to make this port stand out from the others. besides at least Drummond and the old crew get some kind of paycheck from using their old VA work in each port thats released.

What I don't get is why is SA1 can get on everything from a 360 to a god damn Ipod but we can't see a PC/360 port of SA2. wtf seriously? I would fork over cash to see a DX/Battle port of SA2 for PC or 360 it may be considered raking the franchise more but at least its new idea and not the same old "sonic 1 C/P" or "SA1-DX C/P". Is there some kind of graphics flaw that doesn't allow SA2 to be on anything else except a GC and a DC?

Fuck give me a SA2 port any day instead of another DX.

  2. Um, SA1's only so far been released on Dreamcast, GameCube, and PC. And the GC and PC ports were filled with lots of extras and differences. Wasn't aware of an iPod port.

That doesn't even make sense. What does an "inconsistent title logo" have to do wtih voice acting in a port? And the inconsistencies you see come from leaked photos on a message board. Leaps in logic, my friends.

    All the bitches.

I swear SA1 ever even had more than 2 ports, and that was a multiplatform game, which actually added something to the game(Metal Sonic, and missions). Also, why do you have a hard-on over SA2? Its levels are a straight line with a downward slant.

Of course they won't re-record the audio - that would require spending money on the VAs when there's a perfectly good (well, within reason, it IS the original Sonic Adventure) and complete voice acting set already in the game? It's a budget release, don't be so silly.

"Within reason", however? Pah, the voice work in SA1 was complete balls, bar Bristow. Classic examples include "Something buggin' you?" and "I'm glad you're okay".

  8. I'm sorry, but isn't this game's entire existence based on the assumption that these screenshots are leaked and correct? We can't really talk about the hypothetical otherwise.

Assuming that these screenshots are real, why is it a leap in logic to assume that if Sega doesn't even care about this port enough to use the correct name for the dashboard that they won't go out of their way, paying voice actors, to rerecord dialogue for absolutely no reason? If everything else about this port is like SADX, from the lack of widescreen to the framerate, why in the world would they spend the money and time to rerecord several hundred lines of dialogue (especially since each scene has different dialogue in different stories!) for... what, exactly? Consistency? Shits and giggles? People who didn't like the old VAs? In fact, the opposite is true. In Riders (which is not a port!), they reused dialogue from SA2's battle mode. If a new game can reuse dialogue where it doesn't make sense, why can't an old game reuse dialogue where it's fully acceptable and expected?

It's a larger leap in logic to assume that this game's screens are faked than it is to assume that Sega will magically decide to stop being a company and turn this quick-money port into a complete overhaul. My original post was simply to provide context for how much Sega is willing to devote to this port.

Even if Sega did care about this port, the chances of a full rerecord are still infinitesimal.

    Trapped in my own thoughts.
Two stageplays, a screenplay, and an album
If they ever port SA2 they damn well better rerecord the voices, or retime the scenes, or somI'LL MAKE YOU EAT THOSE WORDS!ething.

  10. I feel that's part of the charm of SA2.

You know what? Fuck XBL Marketplace. Fuck PSN.

I want Sonic Adventure on the PSP. That will earn them my money.

  12. All I was saying was that it was a leap in logic, not that I was arguing for the rerecording of voices.

C'mon, no one's really that naive, are they?

if they retime those scenes and is winds up being beter than the Dreamcast and Gamecube versions, then Sega would have done something better than Rare and 4J studios.

    If they ported it.

NGC is an exception it was a good port with extras. but now its just a C/P of the GC port with the PC and now the 360 (if the shots are real) and I can already see what its going to turn into (thus the exaggeration) a 3D sonic 1 conundrum where it gets the first game ported to almost everything from now on but leaves out its sequels until years later when demand reaches its limits. I would just like to see a break from this conundrum and SA2 was the first thing that came to mind hell it could just be shuffle, heroes, or shadow for all I give just something to break the conundrum cycle.

And what was the differences with the PC version? I played both the PC and NGC versions and I didn't notice a real big change. as for an ipod, well its bound to happen with ipods changing year after year already they can run low end 3D games size or not, they will make it fit somehow or downgrade it.

The only differences between the PC and Gamecube versions is that the Gamecube port supported additional shader effects. Reflective/rippling water, etc. These were removed from the PC port because they are dumb.

What I want to see is a Sonic Adventure Collection released on a disk. Sonic Adventures 1 and 2, with the best parts of the originals and the remakes each in one game (for instance SA1 character models and SADX mission mode in one Sonic Adventure. SA2's Big cameos and SA2B's chao system in the same Sonic Adventure 2.)

You cannot possibly be serious about a games company using a lower quality model when they have a relatively decent one available. That's just plain impossible.

May plan constitutes pulling features from the GameCube versions as well.
