Ooh, I like the simplicity.

 

Got it in-game, I need to place objects on it, and then model more of the stage.

 

Polygon Jim, Looking at the overhead map and the screens of the area, am I right in thinking going through the tunnel and along the walkway is an alternative path to the land on top and the loop?
(I'd love to see proper alternating pathways, as opposed to Sonic Adventure's "Mini Alternate path that leads to a few goodies then links straight up to the main path" system, hence why I asked)

 

The tunnel is going to be an alternate path to lead you to another set of land. There's a small chunk of sand if you jump off to the right of the loop, and you can take that tunnel to a different area. I'm going to try and make the level have quite a few alternate paths, including an underwater section.

Agreed, I didn't mind the last work you did but this is even better so I would keep it.

This is awesome, in the same time this is very simple for my eyes. I like it. :D

 

This is my absolute first ever palette change ever, but it needs a hell of a lot of work, I just changed the colour of the sky to black but as you can see the darkest colour of sonic has also changed.



I didn't post this to impress anyone, I was just showing what I was up to

Oh and can anybody show me what colour sonic is supposed to be in a screenshot or something because I screwed it up pretty bad

 

I'm not sure what you mean, but proper screenshots are being made by clicking File -> Save Screenshot, or just pressing Shift + F12. I don't know what you get, but my output is a .tga file. The best screenshot type is a 320x224 .png image.

I would recommend to maybe doing some more work before updating us on your progress, I'm not ordering you to though, it's just much more exciting that way =P

So I finally got a Sonic 1 disassembly on my laptop, which is what I'm working on now.

So far, WIP Art for GHZ, a quick edit of (four of) Sonic's sprites, and GHZ1's layout finished. Also pallet.









I'm trying to get my old computer's hard drive to work right now so I can get the monitors I added in my old hack into this one
