But what is this "zone zone zone" thing? Looks stupid.
I assumed the 'zone zone zone' thing would move like a sort of banner across that part of the screen. It would probably look better in motion.
I thought of something: Maybe the word "Zone" would be like a marquee, like: <font size="4">Project: Sonic Retro Springyard <marquee loop="-1" scrollamount="6" width="50%">Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone Zone </marquee> Act 1 </font> I think I remember something like it in another Sonic Game, I just don't remember what.
I think it would be better if the "Sonic the Hedgehog" thing would actually do that, while "Zone" would use the same font and size of the name of the zone (Spring Yard on that case) but black and placed right below the "Yard" in the title.
While I was busy finding the code for the scrolling, you beat me to the post. Darn. I made it work, though! (if only in text form)
I think the Score Time and Rings look fine. Perhaps the numbers can use a little less grey and a little more white.
If memory serves, I think it was Sonic Advance. I haven't played that in a long time, though. Looks like an interesting new twist, but could we keep the fonts used in Jordanime's original title card on top of this?
It also could really use another color in there, like some red or something somewhere. Perhaps part of that black circle could be made red. That would probably be pretty good. I agree that the scrolling Zone text doesn't work well, but the scrolling Sonic The Hedgehog wouldn't be too bad for me.

Slightly lighter version. Though it might be worth putting something behind it anyway so that it doesn't blend in at all.
That shading on the HUD font reminds me of Streets of Rage 2/3 Title Card font: (Sorry for the bad quality, ripped from YouTube)

The shading style on the logo text for the first games (1,2,CD) would be PERFECT with the text!
Toned down the white, made the black a dark color of yellow/red/grey, and made the numbers brighter. Looks better imo.
