The sand effect and that bright turquoise seem to clash with the existing colors. There appears to be too much activity on this title card. I personally think we're good with the three colors we have now. (one of which will change with the character)
Well, the green was just a last-minute thing since I couldn't think of what to put on the border between sand and blue. On second thought, I like the simplicity of this.
It certainly brightens up the title, such to the effect that I don't think it's that appealing. I think it'll get really messy when you start incorporating the sandy colors with the orange and red, not to mention the different schemes for all the other zones. Perhaps a simple logo or alternate text for each individual zone could be in order.

Maybe we could place gray silhouettes of objects that represent the zone in the black section of the title card. For example, tropical zone could have palm trees in that section, underground zone could have stone pillars, city zone could have buildings, circus zone could have a big top, Blue Mountain Zone could have mountains... that kind of stuff. I like that idea; we could experiment with that and see how it looks.
Phoenix, I believe that we're using the same resolution as the old games..(actually I'm not really sure)..so those would be much too big.

I don't like the how complicated the shading is especially if its against a detailed background. I would rather have a plain style similar, I think that shading may make things too over the top. And here is my take on the great title card shown a page back.

Guys, can this be the final design for that?
Hey, I think it looks great. My vote goes to this HUD.
My vote too.. I mean, look how well they fit in a zone and I don't think they can get any better than that:
I dunno, I'd rather the font have a few more curves to it. Between Sonic 1, 2, and 3 (and even Sonic CD) the HUD didn't change much -- the only reason the HUD changed at all in Sonic 2 was because the slanted letters were slightly easier to distinguish between in 2P mode (a non-italic 5 and 6 look exactly alike shrunk like that). As a result I'm not really into a radical change in the font design. It's okay, but it seems just a bit harsh on my eyes. I do like the new shading, though.
