if sonic can’t do the adventure pose as a trick like in generations i’m refunding I wonder what the reward for tricking is other than just looking cool, though. I’d assume it’s just more boost like in Generations or Rush but it probably also gives you EXP.

Probably did that so you couldn’t easily grind early on to unlock moves too early leaving nothing for later on. Speaking of moves, nice seeing the light dash back. It’s been attached to a wisp in every game since Colors save for generations.
I'm really surprised he lists Sonic Jam as one of the biggest changes in the franchise, but I guess it does make a lot of sense, considering it's the first time Sonic was playable in 3D. Spoiler: Image Also yesss please give us more spinoffs, I doubt Mania 2 will ever exist in any form like this article suggests, but I'd love some more spinoff content during the inevitable long wait for the next Sonic game after Frontiers. I get a kick out of the idea that if the island has some sort of copy of Eggman, the most it has to work with so far is Boss Quotes Eggman. Alternatively Eggman was so lazy for distracting them that he reused old material again.
Hoping Iizuka means side titles like the Advance and Rush games when he says spinoffs and not just more racing and mobile games And Iizuka himself identifying Unleashed as the game that started the big shift the franchise went through in the 10s should put a damper on people misblaming Colors for everything wrong with 2010s Sonic Was hoping they weren't gonna dripfeed the comic but oh well, I'm guessing Eggman was either some digital fake or Sonic will see one of the enemies from the Starfall Islands.
I guess they're going by "Mainline" than just spin-offs/cameos. Like, I wouldn't call Fighters a proper Sonic game. Just easier to simplify it like that instead of including technicalities in between for a mainstream magazine.
