Lol, the music fits so perfectly in that special stage that for nearly half a minute, in the video posted by Lanzer, I didn't even notice it wasn't the original one (as, the one that exists in the game). And when it hits me, I laughed harder than I should have for something that simple. And the interesting thing is that I got to complete Episode 2 at least 3 times this year. That's almost scary.
Heh, yeah. I've actually seen this stage played far more times with the S2 music than the original, as such the original seems even more out of place than it'd otherwise be =P
I've only seen the S2 remix on this once... and my wife and I spent more time on that 7th Special Stage than I'd like to remember... and even for me... the S2 mix just feels so much more fitting. Then again I don't really care for the S4 music in the Special Stage. Any chance there's a way to get this onto the PS3 version of the game? I'm dying to have this... and would also love to replace the music in Episode 1... god damn.
Eh, just put the song on your PS3 and start playing it right before the level plays. Thankfully the Sonic 4 series has always allowed for custom soundtracks on consoles
Now why the hell is there no Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Classic-fication Project going on yet? Retro, I am disappoint. But in all seriousness, I shall be using this mod, and the Sonic 4 Ep 1 version if he gets it working (quote: "I would like to do this with Sonic 4 Episode 1 as well, but I just crashed on it. It needs some more research.") for any and all future playthroughs of the game if it's ever released. I don't mind Sonic's Modern design, but Classic just suits it so much better...

An ideal addition to that mod would be restoring the spin dash release sound. How much work would that take?
Sorry for bumping this topic but is the version of "classic Sonic in S4ep2" the one where only Sonic and Tails models and special stage music are replaced? Any chance there's an updated version with classic Eggman and classic spring model (and ideally absence of boost pads)?
If someone happens to still have the Sonic 4-1 texture and sound mods from a few pages back, that'd be dandy. I forgot how terrible the game looked on PC without them. :v:
