Hey Andrew, first of all, congratz for the new house. I wish I could live on a country where I could have white wood fences instead of those metal-bars-with-eletric-fences. But it's Brazil, the land where criminals are on the streets and on the politics, while you lock yourself at home. And still there are people who want to visit this country. Lil' advice for whoever is planning on come here at 2014: It's not because that hottie is flerting with you that you can go back to your country with all your organs or at least with some cash. Anyways, I'm loving the project at GDK, I just hope that you find a way to solve your problem with the reflections.
Man those textures are crazy good. They remind me of the really hard plastic material on school playgrounds.
This looks amazing. I have one question is this for the Sega Saturn or the pc? I don't know if its running threw an exe or a emulator.
I don't think you could get the FIRST UnrealEngine running on the Saturn, let alone the most recent incarnation. It was considered a minor miracle that the port for Quake was as good as it was.
Just in case anyone missed the video That was placed over in the (Sonic xtreme, .anm files and player, topic). here's some gameplay. and before anyone asks, yes I'm currently working on the sprite system to replace that GDK model! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll_pilRws5I&feature=player_embedded#!
So this means someone's using the GDK to make an actual game? That's brilliant. Keep up the solid work!
Finally, put together a logo for the project. ( metal sonics eye textures are from generations) normally I don't like to use other peoples work, but I got lazy and need to work on the main project more than a logo.
I thought it was getting renamed. It's not bad. Could use some touch ups in certain areas with the text but it's pleasant to look at.
Guess I'm gana keep the name, and add GDK edition in there somewhere. Thinking to much specular on the text?
I actually have a question. I might be too lazy to see if you covered it already but are you going to use the RSN HUD's or going by what Sonic X-treme was using?
RSN HUDS? hnmm , please tell me about it. Was going to use the ones that I ripped from the leaked Sega Saturn 718 Demo disk.
First up, is a Quick in texture test with Galaxy fortress, All the textures besides the background had to be Custom made. Id rather have the originals, but these will have to do. as they are close enough to the magazine scans and videos circulating the net. ( These may get some additional tweaks down the line) I tryed my best, and feel that the block layout has been replicated 100% accurately according to the videos and screens, seems the level is very small. However I bet there is some areas that weren't shown in the E3 video. Also, some additional texture work, Everything but the brick, and cobblestone were done from scratch. I'm sorry that I could not replicate the leaf textures 100 % here, as the reference image that I was copying was so horrible, and could not see anything clearly. .... That leaf texture was so annoying, spent about 6 - 10 hours trying to get it to look right. After that I felt so very exhausted and dead, just from the leaf textures. Everything else was kinda easy. (Think I may work on the lights and leaf textures some more in the future.)
