Congrats, after being a part of this forum for three years, you've finally managed to make the observation that it's filled with overly analytical nerds analysing cartoony video games. + - And you're one of them. :specialed: Anyway, some actual news: the game can now be pre-purchased on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/584400/Sonic_Mania/ The normal price is $19.99, and it's 10% off if you pre-purchase.
There is no mac version planned for sure, yes? (despite the fact that the original in-development retro engine could build for mac)
Playstation and Xbox listings are up too. Playstation pre-order gives you 6 avatars and 3 themes. https://store.playstation.com/#!/es-es/juego/sonic-mania/cid=EP0177-CUSA07010_00-SONICMANIAEUPORD https://www.microsoft.com/es-ES/store/p/Sonic-Mania/BXH46NQT9W4Q
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvD8NZN9Zsg Holy shit the animation in this trailer :O EDIT: Looks like Tyson Hesse handled the animation, music is by Hyper Potions.
Stardust Speedway? Sweet! NOTE: The elevator floors list sonic 1,2,3, Knuckles and Mania. No Sonic 4 in sight.
I am about to literally cry. That animation, that music, that SONIC 4 ABSENCE. I'm crying, preordering now.
>Sonic CD level in trailer >no "CD" button on elevator I demand answers. Nah but that's a fantastic trailer. Hype got.
It's hard to place CD in a linear fashion since it was being developed concurrently with Sonic 2 and could have potentially been released before Sonic 2.
Christ that animation is beautiful! It also looks like we're going to get a series of shorts too, given how most of the animation were rough sketches (up until it turned into color) and it didn't have that Hard-Boiled Heavy scene we found a few weeks ago. I'm beyond excite. (Also, gotta love the bunny ears drawn before being replaced with the hedgehog ears. Callback to when Sonic was initially designed to be a rabbit.) Stardust Speedway Past looks excellent too, and it seems the Flying Battery level looks like the Act 2 boss has been re-purposed into a crusher. One last thing--interesting that the trailer ends specifically citing that "digital pre-order now available". Wonder if it means that a retail release may be in the works. If so, great. Game needs as much exposure as possible. Now if you excuse me... *goes off to open Steam account*
Stardust Speedway past? That's an interesting choice. I thought they'd pick something like Quartz Quadrant instead, but I suppose they picked it to take the spot of the speedy level, since it is a pretty good one at that.
