You see Sonic 4 didn't need to be 2D it just needed to be amazingly beautiful. To be fair though this isn't an actual game its just a 3D animation.

 

Wow, such impressive detail and work, whether a real game or not, it's still damn brilliant.

Guys, it's not a real engine, and I'm not sure how anyone can see that and think it is.

The fact that it was made by a Professional 3D Animator should have tipped you all off. That and the AA and lighting, but whatever :P

 

Apparently someone in the fanbase has been a very good boy or girl since things in the actual games and fan base are actually looking up again.

Still, delayed reply but I love this very much. It has to be prerendered, but how I wish it wasn't... I'd love to play this...

It most likely is prerendered, but hardware today isn't too far off from doing this in real-time, if not possible already.

 

If SEGA/Sonic Team EVER decides to remake the classics, it better play like that, and look like that!

For a moment, at first, I thought it was Damizean's engine =3. Too bad it isn't actually a game engine.

But, fucking hell, to be a prerendered animation, to be absolutelly spot-on with S3K physics?!?! See Dimps, you fuckers, everyone can made absolutely wonderful physics, even in 3D animations. Fuck you, Sonic 4.
