I even gave Jaws a little laser on it's back (the sprite takes up a lot of room in its area, so it doesn't look as good as Chopper's). Maybe I can actually make the badnik a threat.

That looks... really awkward. Did you do anything more than simply take the walking animation and move Sonic's arms behind him? Because that's all this seems like to me.
That looks, nice. Looks like you are trying to re-create the running animation from sonic advance 2 but in genesis style and as a walking animation.

If the whole game ends up like this it will surely be different and a refreshing change for once.
