I'm not hearing it. I mean, yeah, they're kinda similar - but certainly not close enough to suggest copying, or even inspiration.

Here's one, though, which could concievably be a case of copying:

Child's Song (Chaotix) -

Odd March (Billy Hatcher) at around 18 seconds in -

I'm too lazy to check if any composers are the same between the two games.

Haha, someone needs to mix those two songs with Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', which I think is slightly closer to MCZ2P.

Apparently your laziness has got the best of you because this was found years ago. One guy helped with the music in Chaotix and BH. I'm too lazy to look up who though.

Well, not really a "guy" but yeah. Also did work on Sonic 06.

I played Billy Hatcher when it came out, and noticed it the first time I heard the song. I was just recently reminded of it, and didn't see it in this thread, so...

Also, I drank 45 coffees and got just enough energy to check the composer at the wiki - it's Mariko Nanba.

It was found, like, a year ago, as soon as the first Unleashed trailer was leaked, at Sonic CulT...

But I never go to Sonic Cult :(
I found about it yesterday for the first time.
The only other I knew before was the World Map = Angel Island one.

It shouldn't really be all that surprising, but the riff from the beginning of the SA 2 version of "It Doesn't Matter" seems to be the same one from Sonic 3D Blast (MD)'s invincibility.

Wow, I really don't hear this one. And I look and listen for this kind of stuff all the time. No matter how hard I stretched and tried....just couldn't hear anything in your example.

12. The pitches of each note are similar, but the notes' durations are not. Similar, but almost definitely a coincidence.

Seeing as how Senoue is responsible for both songs it's more because he has a consistent style than anything.

The beginning of the Pet Shop Boy's More Than A Dream reminds me of Cyber Track from Sonic Advance 3. It's subtle - more of a style thing than anything else - and of course the Pet Shop Boys are much better...

16. You know, I once read someone on another that said that Event: The Last Scene from SA2 and Live Life from Black Knight kinda sound the same:

The first time I heard the main part of the JP/EU theme of Quartz Quadrant Zone, I could swear it sounded similar to the old repeating theme tune to Wheel of Fortune.

But it could just be me. Admittedly I am an untrained ear.
