Stardust one of my favourite all time dance tracks. That is a very good comparison you have found there!
The only thing that's even remotely similar between those two is the use of that woodwind instrument. They don't sound alike in the slightest apart from that.
Is this thread Sonic music exclusive? I hope not cuz I was just listening to these tidbits. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-42ZFa2nuxs > Lady Madonna - The Beatles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYDo0k-lu0E > Hammer Bros. Forgive me if this is common knowledge, I'm musically living under a rock.
Just found a good comparison today while searching through YouTube for some decent '90s music. As soon as I heard this particular song, I immediately thought "This sounds a lot like the bass half of Sonic 2's invincibility theme." So, naturally, I compared the two. First, pay attention to the bass tune that plays in the invincibility theme: Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Invincibility Now, listen to this song. The tune sounds quite similar; it almost sounds like the bass theme with a few of the notes switched around, but has a similar (though slightly higher-pitched) chord progression. In fact, you can practically hum the classic Sonic theme to this song: 2 Unlimited - Magic Friend (Instrumental)
I love music comparison! :specialed: Superman by the Kinks Final Egg from Sonic Adventure (about 30 seconds in) I'm actually surprised I can't find this mentioned anywhere online. It was the first thing I thought of when I played the zone. I hadn't remembered about it until now, though.
Mystic Cave Zone - 20 seconds and Carnival Night Zone - 53 seconds I just noticed this today. Most likely coincidental.
Credit goes to Kojichan for these ones: Final Fantasy VI - Slam Shuffle (Zozo theme) Final Fantasy VIII - Shuffle or Boogie (Triple Triad theme) Wait after the intros (roughly 13 seconds for Slam Shuffle and 16 seconds for Shuffle or Boogie), and listen for the melody. Admittedly, those are from the series, but as far as I know Shuffle or Boogie wasn't stated to be a remix. Chrono Trigger - Battle with Magus Chrono Trigger - "Battle 2" (unused) Now those are from the very same game, so they were obviously meant to be similar, but seeing as "Battle 2" was unused until the DS remake (from what I've read), I thought it'd be interesting to mention it. At first, I didn't hear the similarity at all, BUT! If you turn off all the channels in "Battle 2" safe for Channel #2, you can hear it plain as day, otherwise the melody is buried under the other instruments and you can't really hear it at all. I'll see if I can upload it to YouTube.
I was listening to the music from Mario Kart: Super Circuit, and as soon as I heard Shy Guy Beach, I knew I'd heard it somewhere before: Mario Kart Super Circuit: Shy Guy Beach Percy Faith - Theme From A Summer Place Just found another comparison. Check this out: Sonic Rush - What U Need Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz - Smooth Sherbet Of course, both songs were composed by Hideki Naganuma, but they still sound very similar.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCkuEuGUBVI At 0:22 the voice kicks in. Compare: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYJkol00JCE&fmt=18 It's slower paced, but still, the similarity is impressive.
I don't expect you to dig through this topic, but this was actually discovered like a year ago on page 2.
I think this one is really interesting, because when I examined the wavelength for both songs, they looked very similar and it may have just been my imagination but even the chorus sounded a little similar, at least to me. StarFox's Fortuna: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDr6FMGwpFM Michael Jackson's This is Blood On The Dance Floor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3_NntYhzV4 Put them together and you get this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23n0kW6_vgY
Wow, that is similar. I like to play a slow, piano version of Bridge on my synth sometimes - it would make a good soft, classical song I think.
Zuma's Revenge!, the sequel to the former well-known game. Here I recorded a part of the game's BGM: http://server2.shareyourfiles.net/ip8GPl/ ...Kingdom Valley anyone?
At first, I was wondering what you were talking about, then at :22 in, it hit me. Heck, if that isn't the Background vocal from Kingdom Valley then I'll eat my hat. I guess if you're going to rip SOMETHING off from '06, may as well be the soundtrack. EDIT: For anyone who runs to the Wiki Music section to compare, go to about 1:22 (82 seconds).
