Nah, it doesn't really match that much. A few notes do match up, but not enough to really make a comparison between the songs.

Holy Shit, I KNEW that part sounded like something I knew! I would even sing that part of this SMB2 song while listening to that special stage...not knowing why I wanted to sing it slightly differently, I was just inadvertantly recalling the Mario 2 song! HA! That is too similar...very creepy, and new. He copied the Jackson 5.
