How would you redesign Sonic the Hedgehog?

Okay. Now it's perfect.

Seriously though, my favorites for Needlemouse would be the Sonics that ChadTheCartoonNut draws though. The shorter stature mixing in with modern Sonic details is perfect in my opinion.

My design was more of a joke. I'd never want SEGA to use that design to be honest. As it is, I've been working and constantly redrawing that to look more in line with Classic Sonic while still trying to retain some of the details of New Sonic and my own art style. Which is funny... I'm beginning to realize that my own art style looks like Crash Bandicoot and J. Axer's stuff more and more. I mean, when it comes to my style, I work closely to realistic details that the actual animals have and mixing that with the cartoon elements of usual Mickey Mouse and other stylistic toons like Ren & Stimpy, or (in Sonic's case) to the respective character it's based on. However...

.....Is that really a bad thing? I mean my design didn't truly offend anyone that much did it? All I think I really needed to do was make them a helluva' lot shorter (and Sonic's spines shorter) and I would've had it in the bag, right?

A few months back, I was curious as to what Sonic 1's Sonic would look like in CG, so I modified Sonic's artwork from Unleashed so that he had the same proportions as his Sonic 1 sprite (meaning his body was as tall as his head). It looked horrible.

 

Guys. I think this is going places.

 

Could you show it?

I have never played that Shadow game... nor I have anything to play it on... and I doubt the game had (lots of) blood and gore in it :P

I've fallen in love with that overly anime looking design. Reminds me of something... just can't remember what.

 

Yu Gi Oh. I got absolutely no Kingdom Hearts vibe (probably because I have never played it), but I did instantly think of YuGIOh the instant I saw this some threads ago.

 

I deleted the original one a long time ago, so I quickly and sloppily remade it. I guess it looks more weird than bad. It actually looks cute, sort of chibified.

 

Fuck you all! I love it! And yes, it has kind of a KH style in there. I personally got a TWEWY vibe of it, which is very good. Incidentally, his head/eyes, etc, feels like the Sonic CD animation somehow, so it's a instant win as well. That's what I call a good picture, drawing, redesign, whatever.

 

That would look pretty decent if Sonic was a bit fatter.
