The flowers I was refering to are two seconds after the time I said it was and they look exacly the same as the ones posted before. There's more groups of flowers like that with a palmtree however (5:23). Another video from another act: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKkE9kQFjhM Without palmtree: 0:38, 4:12 Couldn't find any with a palmtree in act 2 from that video.
Odd occurrence on S3&K today. Defeated Mecha Sonic guised as Metropolis Zone boss, went up to checkpoint, went in Bonus Stage, accidentally went back down and fought the boss AGAIN. Dunno if this was known here already.
Oh christ, yes. That's perfect in so many ways. Not only the in-joke, but the fact that I read that in his SatAM voice.
Apparently the B5 ring sfx is a time unit longer than the CE ring sfx, in both Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 (not sure about Sonic 3 because I'm not familiar with it but I think it has been fixed). B5 plays these notes, on FM5, on the right channel: C1 05, C4 05, C9 1B CE plays these notes, on FM4, on the left channel: C1 04, C4 05, C9 1B Don't be misled by the fact that B5 (or 35 in Sonic 2) in the sound test alternates between left and right. Both of the sfx are mono themselves, but there is a routine that every second instance of B5 plays CE instead.
Well, it wouldn't be the first time Archie has put in in-jokes from the fanbase. Hell, I'm surprised it's taken them this long =P
In Sonic 3 and Knuckles play through Marble Garden Act 1. If you're in debug mode you can press start and hold down b to go at a slowed down pace. For some reason that machine that you fight as the mini boss will go down instead of up if you do the start b thing the whole time. I don't get it at all.
Why did I think you said AoStH then? Wow, I was clearly on cruise control at the time. Everything makes much more sense now.
The reason you hear the voice is because of the "SNIVLAAAAAY!!!" Right before it. You can't hear anything BUT that voice afterwards.
I just been looking over the old default layout for the sonic levels in sonic 1, image again: Another thing to note is you start in complete wild life and fields with water, then you go into a cave, then you appear near some ruins which has active lava, then you approach work in progress building site with buildings in the background, then you run through or past the city ending up in robotnik's factory before fighting him off. It's a nice progression which they changed.
Oh yeah, I noticed that while looking through the artwork section of Gems Collection. Chaotix took a lot of cues from Sonic CD; jump sound, badnik design, visual style, Metal Sonic...
The similarities are uncanny. We all know that Mighty's sprites are just an edit of Sonic's, but did you know that the Sonic CD and Chaotix special stage sprites match up too?
