Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing

Played the PC version a few hours ago and I really like the game. The graphics are decent, music is awesome, cars are awesome (played most with Eggman and Knuckles). I don't know if it's the game or I have a crappy pirate copy but I can't configure my controls or play with a controller. It seems there aren't any video options too.

Half of the time, I listened to this:

 

360 controller only. Also, the graphics config thing doesn't work, you need to set the .ini to this, or you're playing the Wii version.

Change the res to whatever you want it.

Won't have any money till next week. But when I get this game I'll get it on Xbox 360.

 

I've been having trouble selecting my music I unlocked for use during the missions or Grand Prix mode. I'm assuming I can't, unless I'm wrong...?

 

How's the AI to this compared to Mario Kart? I've never liked MK since the AI in those games blatantly cheats, and I hear you can turn off the rubberbanding, which sounds really nice.

 

The computer never really goes out of its way to murder you and isn't as irritating as recent Mario Kart titles, which is good. In fact, it's quite tolerable. Rubber banding can be turned off if you so desire.

 

Sorry for derailing this thread, but similar anti-piracy measures were placed on the DS version of Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Winter Games. Perhaps one day it'll get cracked.

Anyway, I would get the PC version but it'd be useless considering that my laptop doesn't have good enough specs for it. One day...

 

This is absolutly brilliant. Can't wait to get this and turn that fucktarded announcer off.

 

So are there only the three Heroes levels from the Sonic series? Are there multiple tracks for each location? And most importantly, is the Egg Fleet music unlockable on Final Fortress?

 

OK, my brief thoughts on this game: (Xbox version)

Each stage is unique and detailed. Even the stages that are pulled from the same areas feel unique and fresh. To top that, all the track designs are very good. From Pinball Highway to Rocky Roller coaster, each track is different and very good. The music is top notch, and being able to pick different music before a race is nice. Each character is different, and all play different, but not too different (except Opa Opa, he's odd). In fact, my only complaint is that some times somebody will get an All Star move in third or second place. All in all, its definetly the best kart racer for xbox.

 

Looking back a few pages. I'm dissapointed, in the community. Couldn't you guys have waited a week or so? At least Sega or Sumo anticipated this. I wonder how long the pirate protection will last on the non-pc versions.

I was absolutely up for purchasing the PC version of the game until I heard it had some retarded DRM crap. That's bullshit.

I'm not going to download the leak, though; in the case that the delay is to add something like online play, it would be far worth the wait. Otherwise, the gimmick of the game kind of stops fast at the single-player mode. Which sucks.

Also, how does leaking a game make this Sonic CulT, exactly?

 

Weren't Sonic games and betas leaked at the Sonic-CulT of old? Even if they wern't, I'm still getting the Sonic-CulT vive here from the late 1990's/ early 2000's.

Also what's the DRM scheme this time? SecuRom?

 

I wish I could download the PC leak, but the pirate bay has been declared illegal in Italy, so my ISP doesn't allow me to go there in any way, and I assume other ISPs would do the same (I might try to see if I can get any result by stealing my neighbours' wifi which uses another ISP, but that connection is so damn slow that I'd rather send 1 thousand floppies to someone via ordinary mail, seriously)

 

They say the Sonic series has nine tracks, but actually it's nine heroes tracks. 3 at Seaside hill, 3 at Casino Park and 3 at final fortress. Not every other level from other series re-uses level themes, Monkey ball being the best example. And Egg fleet musc isn't in t-e game.

Anyway, the DS version is iffy. Doesn't work on any emulators or many R4 carts without a Patch ARM7 fix. Some have claimed using the ARM7 FIx for Ace Attorney Investigations Miles Edgeworth has worked.

WTF is with them butchering Ryo's voice. It's no where near his original voice actor for the American dub. I mean seriously. They should have just lifted random clips from the game like "Do you know where I can find some sailors?" and "I love these!"

Same thing can be said for pretty much everyone, especially B.D. Joe. But what do you expect? Those games came out a long time ago, and things change. They can't always get the same voice actors.
