Despite my sub-par video editing skills, I decided to fix some glaring omissions from the official sonic mania trailer. No need to thank me Sega, it was my pleasure.
So Nintendo's NX has been revealed as the Nintendo Switch; and Sega's listed as a development partner. (Not too much of a surprise, as Project Sonic 2017 was listed as targeting release for that platform back when it was known as NX, alongside PS4 and XBO). Now that we (partially) know about the Switch, I'm curious on the possibility Mania (and its C.E.) will be announced for that platform later down the line. (Since they're both spring releases, maybe Mania could be a launch game? That ought to be kinda hilarious in hindsight.)
Despite coming out around the same time, I think it's safe to say for now that Mania won't be on Switch for at least the foreseeable future. For one, due to the secrecy around the device and the changing hardware specs, it's unlikely that small indie devs like the ones developing Sonic Mania would have access to devkits. Also, Project Sonic was announced at the same time as an NX title, so it would be odd if Mania was a launch title but they didn't say anything about it.
Couldn't you just buy the PC version? I doubt that the minimum system requirements will be high. I do hope for a Switch version though, mainly cause I'd really like a portable version.
It had me at SEEEGAAAAAGHUHUH. Gonna miss SiIva filling my sub box with high quality rips. The strange thing is. The end of that trailer gave the same feeling in my arms where it makes my hairs stand on end as the original Mania trailer still does.
Oh my god, that's glorious. The timing of it is absolutely hilarious to me as well, considering that I literally only just found out about grand dad a few days ago (I know, I know, I'm really late to the party) =P
That's hilarious, The Sonic Mania trailer really is superb, Most of the feels comes from the music. Though I don't have knowledge on this meme it still touched my heart.
Considering the community that the game has its' roots in, what do you think are the chances we'll be getting any form of mod support? It would be pretty awesome to have a true Classic style template for modern computers to work with.
