I'm drawing something, not that you'll ever see it.
"Death Egg Robo" had better include Doomsday Zone. It was the only time a final battle in space was done properly, in my opinion.

How so? Both Death Eggs have a Giant Robot. There's the Giant Mech in Sonic 2, then there's the Great Eggman Robo of Sonic and Knuckles.

Knowing SEGA, I'm guessing it's the Sonic 2 one; I wouldn't put it past them to milk the "nostalgia" from that boss fight. Personally I'd rather fight the Great Eggman Robo, since they already reused the Sonic 2 Mech in Sonic 4. I also prefer fighting the Great Eggman Robo more; it was just more thematic and fun to me. An overall more epic boss fight (probably due to its multiple phases, and outdoor setting).

Well we now know it is a 'Robot Boss' opposed to being a full blown 'boss stage' we can also logically assume that Sonic 2 won't get three points of representation (Chemical Plant, Casino Night, Death Egg).
If it ISN'T Great Eggman Robo I'll eat my hat, Sky Sanctuary most likely leads into Death Egg: Great Eggman Robo.

Fuuuuuuuck yes!
Best boss fight ever. I hope it has badass music like Snappleman's cover.

You mean THIS piece of win?

There's a small chance this won't happen, because...

1. SEGA probably wants to make their own unique composition.
2. I can't imagine anything surpassing Snappleman's genius.

Though technically the rights to that song belong to SEGA since they made the original song, so they could bargain Snappleman to let them put the song in Generations. However, they're more than capable of making a badass rock song themselves...

EDIT:
Non bold: QFT.
Bold: I agree completely with this logic. I can even imagine a whole CGI scene where SonicM, SonicC, and whoever else, running up that tower to fly into the Death Egg before it's too late. Would be pretty awesome, actually! Though, it would have been cooler if the Death Egg lead to an actual stage...

...Let's just hope when the PC version comes out, level editing will be possible at some point ;p (read: I said possible, not easy)

So much win.

I certainly hope the slight technical niggles don't hold the game back. Chances are you'll be having so much fun with the final build that you'll hardly noticing anything odd about the game feel aside from Sonic's unusual weightiness. The design seems to hold up, though, so perhaps that won't be quite as bad as it looks.

And I will be so stoked to be able to buy this game for PC, if only because it won't be tethered down to just one machine and I don't have to wait till I get an HD console.

That's not an unusual thing to do, picking the same voice actor to dub the same original actor.

Are they getting the Sonic X actors for the French version? It would be dumb not to with how popular Sonic is over there (Sonic X season 3 only happened because the French licenser begged for it)

Classic Chemical Plant looks pretty fun, and I'm kinda glad Modern can't swim. That whole bit just irked me. It also looks like classic City Escape is a lot bigger than I originally thought. Looking forward to all of it.

Wow, all of those badniks are huge now.

Full fledged water segments for M. Sonic? I'm totally in. Interesting that they took out infinite under-water jump from Colors, but honestly, I'm not surprised, since the two games were being built at the same time, by two teams, I doubt they wanted to go back in and re-tweak level designs to take advantage of that ability.

Good stuff.

I am loving Chemical Plant. Both the Classic and Modern stages. Can't wait to get my hands on this game!

16. Chemical Plant is beautiful. I really, really, really hope they do more Genesis levels for DLC. Yeah, yeah I know Polygon Jim came in here and said it was unlikely, but I am still going to hope. It just irks me that instead of spending their dedication and love they're showing levels, they're spending a lot of the time doing modern levels I could give two shits about. Though... it is supposed to be a celebration of the whole history of Sonic.

That does look amazing. The new directions for the blue goop look like a fun addition, and oh god, that music for Modern Chemical Plant. Sounds like an excellent update. Getting the proper stuff from Nakamura has certainly seemed to do the job.

making cool music no one gives a shit about
Where was it confirmed that Modern Sonic can't swim anymore? Just because he doesn't in the video doesn't mean he can't.

Wow, this looks absolutely fantastic. I'm really excited to actually get my hands on this game this... November. ... WHY MUST IT BE SO FAR AWAY!? :argh:

For those who care, I'm downloading the video now so I can rerender it on Vegas and upload it to YouTube in proper HD.
