So the DS version is the shitty 100+ friends and retarded end boss monster game while the Wii version is the superior Robotnik final boss no shitty friends and playable Super Sonic game. I'm getting the Wii version.
Looking at the DS version, I can see why Super isn't playable in the normal stages. There would be almost no utility from it.
... What in the fuck are you listening to? This is easily the second best soundtrack in Sonic's history.
Hell, I consider it to be one of the best period. It's just perfect for this style of game. On that note, I just heard the drowning music in Colors for the first time. The nightmare returns.
I actually drowned in the Aquarium Nightmare Act 5. More than just once. It was Aqua Lake Zone Act 2 all over again. By the way, I love the soundtrack. Also, I love how they still use the same Synth String used in Cool Edge ~ Night Stage music from Unleashed in Planet Wisp Act 3/6 music. =P
Really, you drowned? But isnt there air bubbles... everywhere? although I havent done all of that planet yet, do they get very rare in later zones?
Well, if it's anything like the last major console game, it will just be a couple in-game tracks and nothing else. Have you considered just doing these yourself?
Man how I'd love to see an S3K Hack or something that's based off of this game. Sonic Colors Classic! The wisps can be shields
There's this act in particular, that you start in a HUUUUUGE underwater section, and the distance between the air bubbles are very long. You have to use then the "air-fishes" (sort of a Aqua Barrier -Water Shield- from S3K) to prevent drowning. There are the "air-fishes," granted, but I don't know what I did, I always loose them, and drowned. Lucking for Special Rings didn't help it, either. =P
The fish are temporary. Like air bubbles you can carry with you for a little while. Personally, I'd rather have a water level with a moderate risk of actual drowning than another Hydrocity Zone, so it's all good.
It is actually ridiculous how much fun these are to watch because of all the multiple routes... please post more!
lol, it seemed like with Unleashed they tried really hard to pretend that none of the previous games ever happened, yet they recycled Eggman's 06 theme, a theme that was designed with the "serious" 06 concept in mind, for use in the "kiddy" Unleashed & Colors. I don't find anything wrong with the theme, in fact, I support recurring themes between games. and lol at the DS final boss. Really, Dimps, really?
Chill, You can count me as a "customer" I'm defiantly buying this! This sonic game is without a doubt worth buying anyone who pirates it without buying some sort of version is a damned jerk! Besides think of it this way, heard about that story about 4chan's /co/ (comics and cartoons) board increasing the sales of comics through piracy? its something like that. As rage said "For one reason or another it would seem that often piracy acts as a "free" advertising and many consumers would still buy a copy of the media even if they can get it for free." Anyways AAUK, My sister brought up a good point with me maybe you can answer. She wants to buy the hat too but she doesn't want to pre-order another copy of sonic colors (I cant afford to buy 2 copys anyways. bills, food, rent, etc.) Is there anyway SEGA can make the hat a separate purchase in the near future? I'll give her mine but I'm sure other people are curious about this. Fuck yeah! I love that theme too!! hope they don't change it for awhile it suits him well. Thanks. I was going to go "anal retentive" myself and make it pretty and re-release it but you ninja'd me. can you do something like this with trunk's 2sf rips of the DS tracks? Holy fuck! So the DS version is the screwed up one this time?! Thats...interesting they flipped things around! seems SEGA didn't want to really break the rut they have but wanted to please fans too. so they put the "Monster of the week" version in the DS and the "Just eggman vs sonic already" version on the wii. please keep doing this!
wat Ugh... I'm glad I decided not to buy the DS version. I might pirate it, but nobody's getting my money in exchange for a Sonic game with a boss like that.
Free advertising, indeed. The wealth of pre-release footage, and even the ability to play the game early, has done more to counter the bad press Colors has gotten from sites like GameTrailers and Gamesradar than pretty much all of the positive reviews combined. For my part, said footage is the reason I've been able to confidently apply the necessary salt to certain reviews' statements about the game and determine what's got a ring of truth to it, and just how much truth there actually was. The corollary, however, is that the product actually has to be good for piracy to help rather than hinder it. Not debatably good, not mediocre, and certainly not horrible, but good. See HarrisonJ's remark about not actually buying the DS version for a good example of why. EDIT: Not saying the above is entirely an issue of piracy, I'm just saying, when stuff gets out, people make decisions about it.
