I've had fun getting all 7 emeralds with all 3 at the same time, it was pretty easy, no changes needed.
I hate Tails so much in the special stages, SOTI ended up making a small hack that took Tails out of them for me (I like Sonic/Tails in normal stages)
A quick question: for Super Sonic's hyper dash (the omnidirectional dash), should I add the screen flash? I already have all the code for it ported, but I am of two minds about it.
I say add the screen flash. if I remember correctly after the flash all enemies on screen are gone right? If so without it wouldn't have to have the destroyed animation play for every enemy on screen?
...I personally think that he's overpowered enough to have such a move. Could be a nice addition to make him just turn into Hyper Sonic when he's Super and gets an invincibility monitor, though.
Note that I am referring to the screen flash only -- the white out effect -- and not to the kill all badniks effect. I admit that my previous post was ambiguous, though.
Thank you for reiterating my previous point. ^_^ OH... and I am all for the flash effect. If I may make a different, and seemingly contradicting suggestion though, Perhaps maybe not have the omnidirectional jump kill enemies in that manner at all... just to have the jump. Just my two cents. Take it or leave it. As far as killing all enemies, Add a Team Blast Feature... I think it is very difficult to pull off such a hacking feat... but if you can do it, Sonic Retro should add a new Member Status: Legend ... or aptly name it: "Sonic Hero"
I want to say a couple things... first off... gonna go through AGAIN and find bugs for the buglist Im making for the newest release... I've been purposefully holding off. But that will wait until after my vacation. Im finding fewer and fewer problems outside of terrain collision, which is waiting until last if I'm to understand you correctly. I expect my bug guide should be ready for you soon, but no timeframe yet. Second, I have an idea on Sonic's spawning actions.... Have Sonic come up from below as he already does, except instead of using a spinning animation, he uses the rotating spring jump animation from Sonic CD (or Sonic Megamix.) and add it so that when he falls into place, he uses the falling animation from said two games. The only downside to this is A. having enough room for more sprites, and B. Modifying these to Sonic 3 style Sonic sprites.
While the idea of using the rotating jump animation has its merits, I will never, ever, use the SCD falling sprite -- it is ugly as hell. I would prefer using any of these poses from the Ultimate Sonic sheet: (the last would be similar to Knuckles' pose after falling from a glide). Or maybe make an sprite based on this one from the modern Genesis project: Any of them are better than the SCD one.
Yes, thank you. It's not my place to comment on what goes and doesn't go into hacks, but if there's one thing I'm tired of seeing, it's that.
Yeah, the fourth one on the first image is rather bad. Limbs look huge, head's a blatant copy/paste, and what's he meant to be doing with his left hand? The other three there might be alright. Dunno how the second image would work when adapted to the relevant style.
Hmm... I guess I'm alone in liking that falling sprite. Well, it gives me a little bit of feedback to take into consideration for my own fangame... anywho, I trust you Flamewing... anything will look better than a simple spinning jump... Let's see what you give us. I'm looking forward to it as always. By the way, what is this Ultimate Sonic Sheet you speak of????
I got stuck in CPZ when switching characters (sorry I couldn't tell you where abouts it was, but I thought I'd let you know anyway)
