Reposting cause new page. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XocqXz6UH4s Dem menus Dual soundtrack 88 Miles Per Hour achievement Buttery Smooth Special Stage (gotta go fast)
I like the little subtle change in the Special Stage. The UFOs look like it's really coming at you now instead off just looking like it's shrinking =)
So, the U.S. track is in the game after all? Oh, thank God. You just don't know HOW much this pleases me. Up until now, I had almost given up hope, but seeing that has brightened my day for sure. Don't get me wrong, though... The Japanese/European soundtrack isn't terrible by any means, but like I said before, I prefer the U.S. track, since that's the one I grew up with.
Wonder how the US songs are gonna loop, and if any will use their Sonic Boom variants. Dat Special Stage, man. I was trippin balls.
Haha far out, not exactly sure how this was filmed and by who (PartnerNET strikes again)? But yes, oh ye of little faith. US soundtrack is in, and also loops seamlessly like the JP version in this game.
For a bullet point on the back of the game's case? Nay, there should have been a Grays Sports Almanac achievement for destroying the Eggman machine in the past. I kid, I kid. I'm just ripping my hair over the fact that whoever was playing the game never gave any of the songs a chance to loop.
I can't help the tears of joy running down my face after watching this it's like a dream I can't wake up from. This really is the ultimate version to have that Sega really should give themselves a good pat on the back and be proud that they got it so right this time.
Soundtrack Option Tails Spindash/Sonic 2 Physics Widescreen True Scaling in Special Stages Looping Music Any one of these things alone would make this a must-have for me, but all at once? I'm feeling spoiled. It's... it's PERFECT!!!1! No wait, I must play to the stereotype and be hard to please! So, uh... there's no way I'm getting this unless you add Knuckles, fix the walking and braking animations, add the roll sound and fix the jump sound, and find some way to put it on the Wii. Whew. That was waaaay to close for comfort.
Only thing that would somehow make this more awesome is if you could mix and match the tracks from the different soundtracks. But oh well, I guess I can live with crappy instrumental You Can Do Anything. EDIT: Because I don't want to sound unenthusiastic, nnnngggg dat special stage
Yup, this is definitely the best port of a Sonic game ever. That title used to belong to Jam, but this blows it right out of the water. SEGA and all the companies that ports have been outsourced to in the past should be ashamed of themselves in light of this one. It fixes problems and has been properly updated with true widescreen. And on top of that there are bonus features beyond an art gallery we've all seen a hundred times before. If any future ports aren't up to standard now then I seriously hope people don't buy them.
This can't come soon enough. The Special Stage looks brilliant... and that DJ Eggman sprite is a pretty nice touch. I still can't get used to the lyrics-less intro, sadly. The first half minute really gets annoying since there's barely any variation now. =\ I hope there's still the possibility for an update if SEGA ever gets the rights to those lyrics back in whatever region the customer is.
It would be the icing on the cake to have all of them as options (more the jump sound than anything else for me) but because of how good everything else has turned out, I'm happy to just roll over in submission with what they have done so far. Though saying that if Sega all of a sudden said they are going to delay this release to add those features, I wouldn't hesitate to tell them how much of a smart move that would be. It would be a game of quality and quantity that is rarely found in most games today.
The same guy uploaded a couple of more videos with the opening and ending with Sonic Boom, which does have vocals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHLoXLCVIW4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87V5pOM72tY
I'm getting a feeling that Taxman will now make me enjoy the US soundtrack like I've never done it before. Also that beautiful special stage, when I first saw I thought I must still be woozy from just waking up, but damn, it feels like xmas already. Also, "Nostalgia" Filter.
Good god, that Special Stage is so damn smooth-moving. Big shock, wasn't expecting that. Also, apparently the blue UFOs aren't used for just Time anymore, they further differentiate between Rings and Power Sneakers UFOs instead of just the strip colour being different. A definite buy-on-first-day.
And it's nice to see the UFOs have proper scaling now instead of just using larger/smaller sprites, that will help somewhat in seeing if a jump will hit it or not.
Are the US tracks those from the Sonic Boom CD? I know the ending theme is, but what about for the regular levels?
US Soundtrack in means this will be an instant buy. I wish we had a custom OST option like in Dracula X chronicles though, one that allow you to choose the version of the OST for each stage. But it's a good thing we have both OST at least.
