    Is this real life?

A Genesis-Era Sonic XBLA port that doesn't blow ass and look like mushy toothpaste?

Between this and Generations...guys I...I don't know what's real anymore. :psyduck:

Question (and I apologize if it's already been asked):

Taxman, is it possible to Time Attack other timezones in this version of the game?

Great footage! I especially liked the scaling for the UFOs in the Special Stages.

...But it looks like the videos got pulled that soon.

Wow, SEGA of America were pretty damn snappy in taking those Sonic CD videos down.

Unless they're false DMCA claims, which are also a possibility....

I'm drawing something, not that you'll ever see it.
Just curious, what about the IOS version? Is it going to end up being a cheap watered down version with features missing?

It better not just be for iPad, all I have is iPod touch.

I'm so curious about that "nostalgia" screen mode... I hope it's what I think it is.

Part of Team Megamix, but haven't done any actual work in ages.
Did anyone rip the video before Sega of America took it down?

Well dicks, I missed the video. Meh, I'll just buy the game. It'll probably only be $5 anyway.

I can't be the only one hoping for the same treatment to befall Sonic 1, 2, 3 and Knuckles. This is absolutely brilliant, and it couldn't be better.

How would they do it if S1-K have already seen XBLA/PSN releases? A disc-release of Sonic Ultra Mega Gems Collection Plus would suffice perhaps. I'd buy it at least.

Holy dicks these loops are awful. I could do a better job than this. Some of these should have been basic looping 101, but they couldn't even get THAT right. Myabe 3-4 hits here tops, the rest just pitiful misses.

Also I was not expecting the Cash Cash track to be the US version. Pretty good job on that too. Might try it in Speed Highway

You're just talking about the album right? Cause those aren't the ones that are gonna be used in-game.

Yes I was, and thank Primus for that. Some of those would seriously disrupt the flow of playing for me.

Replace the emulation with a port in the guise of DLC content. "$5-10 for added special features!"

...or Sonic Ultra Mega Gems Collection Plus would be the better road to take. But I'll be darned if everyone else isn't sick of these compilation titles.

Still hoping for a Game Gear-Advance handheld collection for 3DS/PSP, by the way.

You might as well just hack your PSP and download Picodrive and gpSP. It's not like an actual Sega-released collection would have any more effort put into it.

Aw, dammit. I missed the videos because I slept for 12+ hours. >_> I am so glad to hear the U.S. soundtrack will be in the game. I hope I'll have the option to choose which zone plays which version of each song. Having it customized to where I hear the Japanese version of Tidal Tempest and Quartz Quadrant but the American version of Stardust Speedway would be pretty damn awesome.

Exactly what I was thinking - a disc-based collection of Retro-Engine-powered remakes of Sonic 1-3K, including this version of Sonic CD.

The ideal for such a hypothetical collection, for me, would be as follows:

-Spindash toggle on/off in Sonic 1. I personally probably wouldn't use it, but I know there are people who like this option when it's available, e.g. Sonic Jam.
-Add Tails and Knuckles as unlockable characters in each game they weren't already in, with some minor alterations to Sonic 1 to account for this - nothing that would be noticable if playing as Sonic, but things that would stop Tails/Knuckles breaking the layouts too easily. For example, extra Dynamic Screen Resizing in the upper areas of Marble Zone to prevent Tails/Knuckles just climbing/flying on top of the central structures and skippng the level - maybe add an extra secret room in the wall up there with some ring/life monitors to reward players who try to get up there?
-Sonic 2 Multiplayer revamped so that each player has a full 4:3 screen placed side-by-side at a smaller resolution on the display, rather than having two vertically-squished screens as in the original. Bonus points if all levels (bar Sky Chase/Death Egg) were adapted for 2P play.
-Allow Sonic 3/Sonic & Knuckles to be played locked-on or separate.
-Reuse Knuckles' S&K introduction in S3&K, relocated to Angel Island (as in Sonic 3 Complete).
-Give each game a spiffy menu revamp like what's been done with the Sonic CD remake, and add in a bit of extra unlockable content if possible (unlockable Sound Test would be easy for all games - maybe concept art galleries would be possible? Blue Sphere would be a shoe-in as an unlockable for Sonic & Knuckles or S3&K).

I'd buy it in an instant. Either that, or if they wanted to release any further Retro-Engine remakes on LIVE/PSN etc., they could release them for download as "Special Edition" versions. = P

Either way, it's all "pie-in-the-sky" at the moment. Hopefully if Sonic CD sells well they'll consider further Retro Engine remakes in collaboration with The Taxman. I'll be pitching in and buying a copy on Xbox Live, that's for sure. = )

Woah... the Crush 40 version of Sonic Boom is pretty sweet. This was my first favorite song EVER, hahaha.

Going with Cash Cash's habit of working in references to other Sonic games in his music, the very beginning of the song sounds like it could be a reference to the intro of Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast. (The one where the logo forms itself in space for no reason.)
