That-Site-That-Everyone-Hates' Twitter account just tweeted a leak of the first zone name for Sonic 4 Ep. 2: So yeah, it looks like Time Travel is going to be involved in Sonic 4 Episode 2 after all! Who would've thunk it? :specialed:
You could also link to the site that's not hated by everyone :P http://segabits.com/blog/2011/12/21/exclusive-sonic-4-episode-2s-first-stage-called-cryptic-clock-zone/ EDIT: Looking at the comments, their source promised them footage but he's slow with it. Sounds suspicious to me.
Stonehenge stage? Isn't stonehenge just surrounded by flat plain lands? Oh, this is Dimps. Guess that sounds about right. If they're not going to attempt to improve anything as far as level design goes, if there's time travel involved, at least there'll be some sibilance of multiple paths....
This. But the name is so damn horrible. Cryptic Clock Zone? Seriously? It sounds like like we're gonna get a crappy 2.5D version of that clock level from Super Mario 64.
I like the concept of the level and all that, to be honest. I only think it's dumb that they seem to be using Time Travel again.
I'm disappointed about the lack of a physics changes. I enjoyed Ep 1, but I refuse to pay for Ep 2 if it still has the same crappy physics engine. Atleast remove the "stop dead!" physics. I haven't suffered through shit like that since someone figured out a workaround for it in The Games Factory.
[going with the speculation]Aww, I was hoping that the reason Sonic CD would be important was that Robotnik was trying to take over Little Planet again, not for its time travel gimmick.[/going with the specilation]
The only real problem I had with Sonic 4's physics were the lack of inertia when jumping, other than that they were, err, okay.
Sonic 4's physics I can just about deal with... just about. I wouldn't be amazingly sad to see those return, albeit it some slight tweaks wouldn't kill them. Or us. Or Sonic for that matter. What would be most sad to see however, especially so soon after Sonic CD's re-release, would be Sonic 4 attempting to pull of the same game play gimmick of Time Travel, sans any plot relevant reason for it to be in the game, as a shoehorned attempt to cash in even more from Sonic CD's success and cult status. I swear sometimes this just isn't the same Dimps that gave us Sonic Advance all those years ago...
In other news: here's our hint: If you're an Episode II fan I would go back to where the Sonic 4 Campaign first began In a month filled with presents and Christmas hams think of the day, the HMS Warrior first swam Source
I googled what the HMS Warrior was. So does this means announcement of an upcoming announcement for the 29th? Oh boy, here we go again!
So an announcement of an announcement of a hint for an announcement of an announcement? Have we reached a record yet? Or, looking at the Wikipedia article, it said it launched on the coldest day of the year. Ice level confirmed? Edit: Added the hint becuase new page.
The HMS Warrior was a boat that first launched on December 29th 1860, so maybe the announcements comin at the end of the month? Edit: Ninja'd to hell.
Oh boy, an announcement of an announcement. Here we go again. Anyway, I call BS on the SegaBits stuff.
If it really was on PartnerNET wouldn't we have at least seen a terrible quality screen shot by now? During the S4:EI leak fiasco, I sort of got the impression that more people have access to PartnerNET than just a small handful of digital devs. It's probably just some prick trying to play with us because they caught wind of Ken's big hint on some unrelated website.
I don't understand why developers tolerate PartnerNET or just Microsoft's policies in general. A lot of companies should just stop releasing games on their platform until Microsoft gets the idea that they need to overhaul their horrible policies.
