Sonic 3 is 15 years old.

Yeah, that one is annoying. What I do is get the three blue spheres on the border, then go for the internal ones, then go for the external ones =]

 

Me too. For me the only way to pass the rocks was with a Fire Shield. :v:

 

I also used to get stuck there XD Sonic 3 was my first Sonic game though, so...

So, I gave S3K a complete runthrough yesterday (On teh PSP); late but meh. I did it because it was 15 years old; and anything over 15 IMO should be respected: as long as it isn't shit :P

Straight from AIZ 1 to Doomsday, no gameovers, one sitting. TBH, I was amazed; it was the first time I did it. After Doomsday Zone I just went back to Mushroom Hill and got the seventh Super Emerald; I wanted Hyper Sonic :P

 

I played the game on a real Mega Drive only once and it was without a manual too.

 

Which one?

 

For me, it's 'look at the control layout' and play. If I need something answered beyond that, then I look at the manual. In terms of older systems such as the NES and Genesis, there weren't a lot of buttons to use, so controls weren't really an issue anyways (press forward to walk forward!).

With Sonic 3's 15th anniversary here, well, a few days late for me, looks like I'm going to have to get out and play it. Belated happy birthday Sonic 3!

 

Okay, now I know which one you mean. Here's what I do:

1) Get the huge group in the center
2) Get one of the outer two of the three separated by bumper
3) Get all the border ones
4) Get the last two, making the one in the middle last

Perfect every time. I almost always fail jumping those three, which is why I do it this way.

 

That's what I try to do, but I usually fuck up when it comes to the group in the centre. Meh, one of these days haha

 

Never mind, you beat me =P

What happens is I almost always mistime the jump to get that center one, so I get hit by the bumper back into the center, which is now red.

 

I just finished a playthrough as a belated celebration. Ahh memories.
Also, I have a question: Am I the only one who imagined faces in these rocks?

 

Nope, I can see it, reminds me of totem pole faces. That's our brains in action!

 

I also had a copy of the Pitfall game from that era. As a result I didn't think they looked much like faces.

Now Adabat on the other hand...
