You get plenty of chances to find gold SS rings, only 6 zones with 2 acts each, piss easy final boss, short game overall.

I agree though I suck at the s3 bonus stages.

 

Yes, Sonic 3 alone is easy, but I never considered Sonic 3 to be the actual game. The true game is Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and that isn't the easier of the bunch.

 

It's a question of semantics. Keep in mind, Sonic 3K is the "real" Sonic 3, if you follow that definition, then there are only 3 core games, unless you're including Sonic CD in the list.

 

Shit's actually the hardest one to do so. You can only fuck up the special stage so many times since you only get one shot per level. You can be powered up by the end of EHZ easily, by comparison, if you know what you're doing.

 

I agree but I find it easy, maybe because I played Sonic 1 solid before Sonic 2 was released so I became teh pro of teh Sonics.

 

I find Sonic 3 to be the easiest to complete as well, which had the easiest Special Stages, since they were so much easier to memorize than the other Special Stages in the series. Whereas I can get all seven emeralds by the end of HCZ2, I still haven't memorized all of the big ring locations in S&K (I typically got the Super Emeralds by beating the game and returning to MHZ1, if I hadn't already got all of them by LRZ).

 

I beg to differ. The first time through, I lost several Continues and >30 lives. I haven't reached that far again yet; let you know soon.

 

The final boss was hard until I learned you could use the jump buttons to boost.

 

Sonic 3 is a good game. Not my favorite, but I can see why people love it so much.


Favorite level has to be Mushroom Hill, both acts. This was the perfect level to explore, because it wasn't bogged down in little gadgets that spin you around and all that crap.


Mushroom hill gives you a lot of room to explore, something I liked in Sonic 2 that wasn't as available in Sonic 3. You could blast around as hyper sonic and have a good old time.

Indeed it is. It's not even challenging to beat it without being hit...

 

It's all about the Insta-Shield.

 

This is definitely my favourite out of the Genesis series of Sonic games- awesome graphics, awesome music, and probably Sonic's best look out of all of his incarnations.

My only gripe is it's easier than previous Sonic games I've found- Sonic 1 is pretty solid compared to this :v:

I only lost ONE LIFE doing this final boss. This is the third time I beat this boss ever.

Which leads me to a simple question...
Does Tails jinx?
And
Is the final boss really piss easy?

 

It is...especially if you're Super Sonic. Just don't get caught by Robotnik's claws and you're fine.

 

Eh, Super Sonic may make it easier, but nothing kills the boss better than good use of the Insta-Shield. Tails alone, having neither option available to him, has a significantly harder time.
