Bah, version, revision, same difference. The way I see it, major changes should denote a different version, and minor changes should denote a different revision. Besides, what I quoted from wasn't actual Sega documentation anyway (although it may have been written with the aid of the same).
Um, a bit off topic, but I can't access A51. I keep getting a 403 error. Could someone look into this?
Made no difference... Still gives me the error. It seems to give me the error just on this computer. Was I IP banned or something?
First you have to locate all data over again. Then you have to disassemble the game, and do everything over again. It takes time.
For some reason, when I try to register for Area 51 click to register my user name, I get an "Sorry you are not permitted to use these boards" message. Is there any reason for this?
Yea, I have the exact same problem as ScaryMonkeyShow because I use a dynamic IP. But you know what? That's the Sonic Community for ya. The CulT, Area 51, it's not a community based on the principles of "fair." Settle for S2B, it = win.
You would do well to learn how to do IP bans/exempts via .htaccess files, heres an example: Code (Text): #403 - Forbidden ErrorDocument 403 /banned.html #Banned ISPs/IPs deny from 127.0. #Exempt IPs allow from 127.0.0.1 It also works with hostmaks... Code (Text): allow from .golden.net allow from proxy.aol.com deny from .microsoft.com deny from .evil-hackers.org The only thing is unlike normal bans you cant use * as a wildcard, it has to remain blank for a wildcard. EDIT: A good site to find a person NetRange(ISP) is via ARIN Whois, for those who don't know ARIN stands for American Registry for Internet Numbers and there is a Eurpoean counterpart I just can't remember it off the top of my head, though I wanna say RIPE, but I'm not sure on that so use ARIN. Anyways, that's how I find the ip range for a ISP I wish to block. I haven't had to ban anyone from RSN but I've done ISP blocks before on my IRC server.
Oh!!!!!! Doesn't use gmail, huh? Well no problem, when I signed up for the CulT way back in the day I just got a crappy email account from www.cheatcc.com and used it just for that then changed the email in my scarz account to my hotmail (later my gmail). That shoudl work. It'd be kinda nice if it told me that but meh, no worries. Well obviously anyone that uses free email isn't intelligent. Blocking free email servers like yahoo and hotmail (and gmail now) (I've heard some places do it with AOL) keeps out all the newbs that would otherwise flood in. It helps keep a community nice and white and clean. OMG e-WWII. And it's not terribly unfair because like I said, if you have your wits about you, you can dig up one of a number of obscure free email hosts, sign up with that and later change to your commonly used one.
Wetflame kept registering with different gmail addresses. I am sorry but I don't have access to A51's database so I can't remove the ban settings.
Use Linux Mail, its pretty good, and almost nobody has banned it. Its a good free mail. www.linuxmail.com
You calling me unintelligent? Just because I don't want to waste money, doesn't mean I'm unintelligent. :P If I can have 1 gigabyte of storage space in a Gmail account, why do I need anything else? www.dodgeit.com
Nononono, I was being heavily sarcastic. I myself use gmail, which would explain why I haven't been able to sign up. Sorry about that, should have tossed an =P in there.
