The "G" and the "A" aren't quite the same as the original in that Warlock font - the original G is more rounded. It is very close though.

Personally, I think it might be easier to simply remaster the Game Over letters ourselves, since we're not going to use the whole alphabet (only 9 characters from the font will be used). Those fonts are also complete rip offs to buy. There's no point buying it when it's not even completely accurate to the original anyway.

Folks, I'm posting an update to the item box sheet that a user by the name of Sonica has done. He says he's been having difficulty registering at the forums so he has sent me what he's done so I can post it for him. There is an updated Sonic icon and ring icon. Please direct your comments and criticisms to him and not me.

 

Item box itself is pretty good. The icons don't look too hot though. You almost couldn't mess up on the shield and teleportation icons so I'll give him that, but as for the rest:

-Sonic just doesn't look right at all. The nose is too far off to the right and too pointy at the base. His muzzle isn't shaded correctly. His spikes are shaped really awkwardly. Just in case you (Sonica) did this free hand, maybe you should draw over the sprite instead.
-The ring in the original sprite shows depth like it's flat on the inside like a wedding band his is more similar to a doughnut
-The ? doesn't bend correctly for me on the bottom

 

The Sonic icon and the ring are the only new additions, everything else was created by McAleeCh

Though, I agree with your crits Drex (except for the ? which looks ok to me)

 

I just thought that the bend on the bottom right was a bit too sharp.

Looking at this now it's so minor I probably could have let this be.

 

Drex, Sonica says he's read your comments and is including them in his improvements. He also says he's using Paint Shop Pro to draw these and is working on improving the invincibility and super shoes as well.

 

I don't see why he doesn't just make a validation topic and start posting here himself...

It's not my own, its a merge, and I don't fully understand.

 

The ball on top doesn't look like a ball (spherical). It looks like it has a red disc (flat) with a ball inside.

 

I intended it to be a red ring with a ball inside, just thought it would look nice.

 

the bottom part of the checkpoint (the trophy shaped part) is way off. In the original, there were two hard kinks on each side, on towards the top, and one a bit above the bottom. All the new one's curve too much.

Well, it applies to all of them. They are all way to smoothly curved.
