Sounds more like they have some left over, and they'd raffle them or something. That's disappointing. Maybe if the Mini is a big hit, they could make more.

    Working on my art!
This isn't the 1st time Sega's used prototype assets for their videos. They used Sonic 2 beta sprites in the Sonic 4 reveal trailer way back when. It's confusing though, like do they have an easier time getting prototype assets for some reason? Like I would imagine they'd have some of the final game assets lying around because why wouldn't they but in what world would they possibly need the end of act sign that was only ever seen in an extremely early version of the game?

They probably just have someone search Google for these things, and this is what they come up with.

I'd be very surprised if they didn't put that in as an easter egg, really. My understanding is the current Sega PR people are about as big of Sega geeks as we are.

So I was examining the unit hoping to find a MicroSD slot or something, and found a hidden cover! I got excited, thinking this was the path to modding! I opened it up to find...nothing...?

    Why is that cover there?

Because it's on the original hardware?

I had a Model 2 so not really familiar with the Model 1. Sorry.

The door is on the original Model 2s as well. It hides the edge connector for the Sega CD. The Tower of Power Mini's Sega CD Mini sticks in there.

I've had this console for 23 years and I never noticed that there.

    You both lack powerful towers.

Yeah, just the vanilla Model 2 for me back then. I'll totally get the mini ones if they make more for the public, just for collector's sake.

It's not the height of your tower, it's how you use it.

Can that be legally classed as a weapon? Because that looks like a bomb just waiting to combust into something nasty.

Well, I guess an attempt was made to secure the rights from Warner Bros, and perhaps they left it on by mistake. Now to see if it's accessible.
