Two days past my deadline to make a video for this and I'm still not even halfway done. I always overestimate how long it takes to make a level, and having to scrap all my level tiles and lose two days work because I wasn't paying attention to how they fit together properly certainly didn't help, so all I have to show for it right now is this
Excellent work! The blocks actually look like they are popping out and I quite like that grass. One thing though, did you insert custom sprites to Soned2 or is that a fangame?
Fangame. That image is also missing quite a bit of detail, and enemies, and rings and stuff... so yeah. I just said "I'd have something in 5 days or so" and it's been about that long so I figured I had to show something.
hai guise Here's this thing I've been spamming my Creative Works thread with for the last few weeks. I'm pretty much just looking for whether or not I'm on the horribly wrong track with anything and need to completely change it; could be anything, from the look of the grass to the far-from-complete design of the level itself. I only bothered with 2 screenshots. Also, I had a strong desire to add signs like that, but I dunno if they're really needed or not. It is intended as the first level after all, but then, it isn't exactly a tutorial level. Are they a bad idea, for whatever reason?
I've been working on an RPGMaker game where some teens get trapped into a Virtual Reality game and battle their way through familiar game worlds. Would anyone be interested in playing something like this?
That's Spark's game Sonic Neo Pocket Adventure I think that's the name anyway. Anyway he's making it with Sonic Worlds in Multimedia Fusion if I'm not mistaken. Looking good Sparks.
WIP Teaser. + - No Sonic 2 Advanced Edit totally did not inspire me to use that music. That's absurd. :v: And yes a lot of stuff is unfinished.. Like Sonics sprites and Pocket physics. edit: Some people seem to be confused. Sonic Pocket is my own fan game. The Genesis game is Sonic Zero, aka Kaosu and I collaborating.
I suppose this really belongs here rather than in the SAGE thread. Those background pillars were that last part of the level to be made. I had an extremely hard time figuring out what the background should look like in the past. When I chose them and made them I felt as if I was settling for them but after getting them in game I'm extremely happy with them. I made them from this piece I found in Sonic Advance 3. The pillars cover the whole map and then at the top of the map there is a ceiling. I won't show I picture because it won't due it justice but it has kinda a neat 3D coming forward look to it. Green goop you see in the one screen shot is the sticky stuff that the robot snail leaves behind it. He's just off screen. You might also notice that Sonic isn't in the shot, that's because I snail hit me and Sonic is currently flashing. The snail looks like this:
With SAGE right around the corner I wanted to not show anything until then but I can't help it. That's all you get. :v:
