Got some stuff you want to show off but don't want to make a new thread for it? This is your thread. ------- I suppose. :P Its not a hack but a project. *shot* :P Way too early to show anything, but I was wondering about opinions on the ground tiles. (disregard cut edges and unfinished grass..., I mean the block shapes and colors in general)
That's looking as great as ever Sparks. I like how you stick with one idea and roll with it, unlike me. :P I myself am quite surprised by the simplicity yet awesomeness of the current art.
Since this didnt actually say hack I wanted gigalopolis =P. I kind of got the idea of doing gigalopolis from that cosmic city someone did, and I didnt relize until I was remaking gigalopolis that the maker of that zone was doing the same thing. If it bothers I can always remove. Generic Hill Top Esque zone.

Mimicking is the best form of flattery damn it =P
That looks pretty good Hez. Humor me hear though, is that still MMF or is it being made with the Sonic Retro engine as was the implied direction after all the bitching in the previous topic for that game? =P

(You play a video game Sonics playing that parodies himself, to clear things now) Scrolling was made with help from by Rael0505. :x
Oh. I forgot to post the demo. Basically I've had some computer problems lately (crashing), so I've been slow on progress. The computer at my Dads is nice and protected now, but I need to get back in the mood to level design. Scott I Christmas Demo Also quick level graphic for a future zone:
Oh, so we can like post anything project-related we're working on, that isn't necessarily related to engineering/reverse engineering? Or wait, maybe what I'm thinking of is technically engineering. I dunno, but whatever, here's a little something. (from my project, EtG) I started with just trying to use light green to dark green gradients on tall pyramids and just cover one of the platforms in that, but it ended up looking ugly, resembling the bottom of a studded shoe, and using way too many polys (about 40x30, 5 polys each, which means 6k polys per platform, not including the other one, and the ground below it). So I scrapped that idea and tried just recreating the sides of the platforms from the original stage with Gimp, UV mapped it to the sides, and just put whatever I thought would fit on the top and the bottom of each platform. So I guess, should I still try to make it look like there's grass on top of it, growing up, etc.? The original definitely looked like it, although it was probably much easier, being 2D and all :P Edit: *noticed lack of replies after 3 days* it's 'K, I can take a hint, I'll do more work on it so you guys have more to criticize about it. :-I'm stupid-D
It's a hoax, but the graphics are a hell of an update. comparision here id also be a lot happier if you gave me crit on this short demo <:
Are we allowed to post non-hack screenshots? if so: here'smy current project: The game is called "Sonic Core" and it's being developed in Game Maker 7.0. The Current state of the game progress is about 15%. Things added: Sonic: Spindash: 100% Crouchdown: 100% Camera: 100% Roll: 100% Knuckles: Spindash: 100% Crouchdown: 100% Camera: 100% Roll: 100% Glide: 5% WallClimb: 0% Land: 0% other: Parallax: 100%
Holy shit! That art and palette are so awesome! I was surprised when I read it is made in game maker. Also, lol that sonic statue was once in MarkeyJester's hack but it was a peelout sprite.

Seriously. I'm impressed of what you've done. Is it your own engine?
Both yes and no. It's base is made by Damizean(awesome guy), but the actions is added by me. I'm aiming for a pretty close clone of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & knuckles. So far, it's going great.
Oh hey ZFG, I'm ojdon from SFGHQ. =P Even though, I think I've seen that screenshot before, I think it does look really awesome, but just make sure the grass in the foreground doesn't clash too much with the colours in the background.
