Why Multimedia Fusion never saves custom control configs is beyond me, but I've managed to write a system that will let users save customized control configs, even for Gamepads (MMF doesn't let you customize gamepad setups). It feels like the sort of thing that shouldn't be working, though, but it does.
Now there's something I haven't seen in a long time, the MMF Event Editor. Custom controls were always a fun thing to try and implement.
It feels really sloppy but it works. Every key on the keyboard is assigned a numbered flag (1-53), and when pressed, it turns the flag on. A loop checks to see which flags are on, and uses the flag numbers to reference a line on a list. The data on that line acts like button press. e.g.: I press the "A" key. Flag 17 turns on. This means Line 17 is activated. Line 17 says Button 4. Button 4 is "pressed". Since the list object can save and load lists from external files, that's how controls can be customized.
Wonder what Lunatic Mode is like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJNYME5w5iY Some Sonic Pocket Adventure related stuff again lol
That's a pretty neat concept for a first try. Reminds me of the Metal Sonic boss from Atomic Destroyer Zone. Things to do: -Fix camera -Fix character collision -Design Act 1 on paper first -Make 8 frame rotation -Make the Sonic Worlds engine less recognizable in general
My Little W.I.P: Character might be an unlockable [Hopefully when I get Sonic, Knuckles, Tails and Amy in] Heheh, sounds like a great idea. An M+ rated hack, I like that :v: Good luck, I can't wait to play it!
Yeah, It might fit... But then again, I would like it to look plain and simple. The only problem with your suggestion is that I can't find much complete sprite sets apart from Slamman's one: http://www.freewebs.com/fanspritecomics/Fiona%20Fox.gif But... I guess I could here http://www.wizard-alcove.net/cast.html and contact the author for a sprite rip, If it's ok.
Just me fiddling around and trying to make stuff. :P I'm so busy though, I doubt I'll really get much done.
Hope you get some progress with it. It's looking pretty good (that is, if that Sonic going up that slope has physics and everything).
