I don't remember exactly. I think someone brought it up once and I really had to listen for it; once I noticed it, I totally shat bricks. I know it's not common knowledge, though, so I decided to try and fix that.
That's right, it was you! Should have remembered that something so obscure and awesome would have been brought up by yourself.
Me too, but I was watching my brother play the boss (he always finished games before I did,)so I guess not playing, and not caring about watching him fail the boss 1 million times, it would've been easier for me to notice. that, and I was obsessed with Live and Learn at the time :v:
The theme to the 90's anime series, Dominion Tank Police sorta reminds me of Naofumi Hataya's work on the Sonic CD soundtrack.
Listen to Lyra's theme on HG/SS and then Sonic 1 MS/GG's special stage theme I knew I heard that somewhere...
It sounds to me like the same sample from 1:03, but at a different pitch. I'm no expert, but it sounds like Spanish or something.
That's weird, I hear "donkey machine". Stop looking for lyrics where there aren't lyrics. Go try listening to Metallic Madness or something, figure that out.
I always heard "stop the machine" at that part in Ska Cha Cha. And there's a part later on where I think the voice is saying "fire the DJ" (a line that I imagine made more sense in the song it was sampled from).
Someone on another website (Flying Omelette) pointed this out: Bear any similarities to Marble Zone? :v:
It's "come on Mr DJ". Somebody on Cult posted a comparison between Ska Cha Cha and a track from that Mario DDR game which used the same sample, but not sped up.
Sounds almost uncanny. When was the song initially released? I've heard Masato Nakamura compose some other things that sound like they are using recognizable motifs from some other songs. I said something similar to this a while a go with Aquatic Ruin.
