Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing

Akira looks too much like Ryo, I'd rather have Kage or Jacky, since Jacky actually races.

 

Sega Superstars Tennis also had single player missions like that, and you had to do them if you wanted to unlock stuff.
Final Fortress sounds like it could be a fun stage, Eggman's base would have been nice, but Final Fortress will do for me. Curien's Mansion is also a nice addition, and I already knew about the Monkey Ball stage. (which already appeared in screenshots)

 

Ugh, those missions don't sound fun at all. SEGA, stop botching shit up all the time.

Most of the material better be unlocked from the get go, or this isn't even considered a rent if it's going to be another trivial fest of stuff I don't even want to do.

Also god dammit Sonic Heroes was terrible stop reminding me about it SEGA.

 

You can't go very different from that design for a person who specialises in chinese Martial Arts. They're also very different in face structure and I say personality as well but I admit I'd also pick up Ryu first. Red attracts me.

 

Sonic Heroes wasn't that bad.

Though it'd be nice if we got levels from other games.

 

The funny part is that Ryo is basically a retooled Akira. He WAS Ryo until Shenmue shed it's ties to Virtua Fighter.

If these single player missions bare ANY resemblance to Crash Team Racing, this will be the kart racing game of forever. That game had the BEST single player campaign of any kart racer ever.

Not exactly. Dural has her own move set, and it includes several moves from other characters, but she has her own moves as well and doesn't have access to every move. So it's less like she's Shang Tsung, and more like Ken compared to Ryu. I just can't remember which of Akira's moves in specific she has, since I rarely play as her. I know she has 2 or 3 of his...

 

Ryo was based off Akira. If I remember right the character model for him is labeled as "AKIR." Also, Shenmue was originally meant to be an RPG with VF characters.

I'm not sure Akira's gonna be in this.

I liked Mario Kart DS's missions as well.

I liked Sonic Rush Adventure's missions too.


They give the said games more replayability.

Well now I agree, and hopefully these missions will be optional. The heart of the game should be the grand prix mode, a straight up rip of mario kart's mode, IMO. Once you tire of those you can move onto these. It's just kind of a bummer because the descriptions don't sound all that fun. Get all the rings? Don't get hit? Thats alright, but they could really do something a bit more creative.

Speaking of different modes... is there a battle mode?
