I really hate the Sonic 1 palletes limitations, a huge part of the pallette store is shared. But well, I'm progressing with ASM.
Whoa...Iron Sonic... If he works to actual size I will be incredibly impressed Have to say this is one of my favourite threads.
I'll spend my last trial post on a good comment: Nice! Metal Sonic was used a lot in sonic 1 but mecha sonic was always ignored, excellent work! Any chance you are creating a super mecha sonic or a special move for him? Also, is that life icon from the mega man series or you made it from scratch?
Yes, he is actual size from S3K. I had to redo most all of the mappings just so he'd work. Now there's some collision issues to deal with that I'm working on. But he is indeed full size. And also the Life Icon is custom made. As well as the signpost at the end (which I didn't show).
The collision engine seems to not think that the upper part of Mecha Sonic exists, and so it passes through solid objects. That is what I'm going to try to fix. That's going to take some time to do, however. I have no idea how long it will take to fix the issues. I'm right now just trying to find a way to edit the collision engine code. I don't know how successful I'll be.

Here's what I did last Thursday but didn't get a chance to show off yet. I took the shading from Oct and ran with it. I'm making the Chemical Plant zone slot sewer themed, so there will be pipes and such all around.

If my drawing has a flaw, its not being able to draw grass or grass levels. I guess I have A LOT of catching up to do. :v:

[/quote] It does, mainly because of the fact the Ristar art did some amazing work around the technical restrictions of the Mega Drive. This likewise looks incredible, and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the corresponding art.

Well it's me again and I need some crits on my sprites.. Just made a short vid about my progress with the spins and some other stuff (signpost). Video Give me feedback, plz.
Nice job, I love the sprites and the concept, but there are two things that you may need to fix: Sprite Positions (The walking frames remind me of some old Sonic fan games I played with the Sonic 2 sprite set). The lives counter (Since you are going for a Powerless Sonic in Sonic 2 hack, you may want to change the life icon to make it look like PL Sonic's face, and the name to PL Sonic). Other than that, nice work, I would like to play this hack soon.
