Nah. Unleashed's was much worse, as was Solaris and Metal Overlord. I dunno, I must just be good at it; I started to understand what to do pretty quickly, and I've beat it another one or two times just to see if it wasn't just a lucky go at it. And S-ranked. Huh. Like Corneliab said though, yeah, it is definitely one of the most awkward ones.
Worst boss in the entire franchise. It's not even difficult. It's one giant visual cluster fuck. Spoiler
Guys. It just occurred to me that I never got the Achievement for restoring City Escape. Why is that odd? I've completed the entire story mode. In fact, I've been going for all of the Achievements and only have a few left (such as all S Rank, all Red Star Rings, etc.) ...please don't tell me I have to start completely over if I want that Achievement. EDIT: Going to try going through the stages back to back and see what that does. Though I've certainly replayed the levels since going through the first time.
It won't work, its most likely a glitch. You're most likely going to have to do it all over again. I suggest saving your save file onto a USB stick, start new game, replay up to city escape for the achievement then replace the new save file with the old you transferred to the USB stick.
It's a small, unimportant little detail, but I just now noticed that the red stage/boss names in the hub become gold once you've S-Ranked them.
Finished it =) Spoiler Overall, very pleased! The fact that we've had this proves that Colours wasn't a fluke and Sega has actually figured out how to do a decent 3D Sonic consistently. Only taken a decade to figure out =P I never thought I'd be saying this, but Sonic 06 of all things gave my favourite part of the game - Classic Crisis City is a really fun level, and the signpost trolling you by drifting away - then past - then finally staying still was hilarious. Cutscenes were also really great - some nice lines ("it's pretty much our job to stop him") and some other cute moments (hedgehog bro-fist springs to mind). While I'd been spoiled on the fact Classic Robotnik was involved with Time Eater ("No-one calls me THAT any more!" Does this mean we now have a canonical reason for the name change at last? Modern told him it and he liked it enough to apply it to himself - a self-fulfilling time loop!), I figured he'd turned himself into Time Eater somehow, not been drafted into it by Modern, that was a nice twist. Also, they put the SoS recording right at the end of the ending credits =) Fuck Time Eater though. I got one hit in a couple of times then ran out of rings and died - on something like my 9th attempt I finally got more than one hit in and finished it off, following some luck with ring acquiring having been outside the time vortex with Classic for a while - speak of, THAT was very Dr Who, wasn't it? =P And all this while LOOK OUT HOMING ATTACK BE CAREFUL SONIC IT'S ABOUT TO FIRE etc. =P My only real complaint, though.
Finished it today. My thoughts? This game is fucking great. Everything that needs to be said has been said already, and my only really complaint was the final boss. Other than that, damn good show. After playing the PS3 and the PC version, I had no problems playing well on PC and it really is the superior version. Played it in 3D too, that's a really nice addition. Seeing as the resolution can be thrown right up to 5760x1080 but with the aspect ratio completely borked, I hope in time it gets hacked and full, 3 monitor loveliness is possible. At that point, I think my Sonic love will be complete.

Achievements work really weird in this game. I got "kill 100 enemies" achievement in like chemical plant even though I didn't even touch missions by that time. And I also got "look both ways" on my first run even though I got hit like 5 times during that sections. And also S ranks are so piss easy it's not even funny.
So I saw that Chimpo made a professional analysis. Based upon that I decided to make an educated theory:
"Sonic Generations was released and charged with rape" I'm going to charge YOU with rape for what you just did to my ears with that video.
And now I wonder why the Sonic X theme isn't in the game. Spoiler In b4 someone takes that statement seriously.
Just read through this entire topic again to read the spoilered stuff, and this has come up as a point (not a spoiler): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/38239832/Pictures/Sonic%20Generations/WP_000033.jpg What was the specifics on getting this tin? It was said when this pic was posted that it came outside the main box (and I know I didn't see it inside my 360 box), but neither of my Amazon boxes came with it. Who got this tin, what version of the CE did you get, and who did you buy it from?
So, I've worked out one of the bugs I've constantly been getting in Seaside Hill. Apparently Sega did not anticipate the bubble shield doing this. Still not sure about the disappearing enemies in another level. Edit: Never Played Unleashed. Spoiler Up Over and Gone (Spoilers due to size) This is the area right after the first cannon on the upper path. Normal gameplay has you go down into the water to get a red ring and navigate a maze. Using the bubble shield you can get over the maze(it may take a couple tries, the pillars have to be moving up) and the game then does not load the next area. You then have to fumble through the invisible land until you reach the next load point.
