Sonic Generations Megathread

I can imagine them using a classic-version of At-Dawn for Classic Sonic, and a remix of the Normal Speed Highway track for Modern Sonic.

 

Anyone else pick up on the homing attack reticle for the rail? That's certainly a welcome addition to the engine, and speed runners a-like will surely enjoy that too.

Or hate it. If the level designs suck (Which they arn't so far. :P)

 

This game on pc would run very smoothly and nicely, also you can use whatever controllers you want! I'd expect someone to use a Wiimote or even a Sega Genesis Controller to play the game!

 

Hopefully at the same time as the console versions.

Nah, at this rate it'll probably come much later to PC than November, if at all. We haven't even gotten an official announcement yet, much less a demo. Still, fingers crossed. I wants that game for PC.

EDIT: By the way, am I the only one who doesn't give a rat's ass about the Casino Night pinball preorder minigame? It might me more fun than I'm giving it credit for, but it's not much to drive me to preorder it.

A pre-order mini-game that actually already exists on the disk is absolutely nothing to be excited. If it was a full extra stage, then okay, that would be interesting, but this is pretty naff.

The contents of any version have yet to be confirmed, but they've got three separate listing up for both the 360 and PS3 versions of the game. "Sonic Generations", "Sonic Generations Limited Edition" and "Sonic Generations Collectors Edition". For the record, MightyApe was one of the first places to list the Sonic Classic Collection Limited Edition, which was released only in Spain and Australian regions.

And it's also worth noting that a whole host of other Aussie retailers aren't listing anything but the regular version.

 

Collectors edition eh? What does it entail to cost twice as much I wonder?

Considering that video's in German I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't.

Also urgh, those German guys talking so much makes me not able to hear the music that apparently has "It Doesn't Matter" in it. I wish there was a way to knock out loud sounds in audio even slightly, because I can kind of make out the music... if I blast my speakers. Then I have them speaking a language I know shit about like they're coming out of a megaphone x.x;

 

How do you think the Modern gameplay compares to Unleashed?

200NZD is about 164USD or 99GBP, so it's still pricy. Not entirely unreasonable though considering what some Collectors Editions cost.

 

The PS3 version still being inferior this close to release made me decide to switch to pre-ordering the 360 version, I have both so I'd rather know I have the version that's confirmed to have no issues (other than the derpiness of demo glitches, which will be gone by retail).

 

So I'm guessing those are going to be international only collectors editions right?

 

SO, the mall tour is Green Hill zone only, modern and classic.

I don't buy it. Reason is this announcement was made after the demo had previously botched in two previous locations. I'm willing to bet they just switched the demo to green hill now because it'd be too difficult to swap the demo mid-tour.

 

I'm hoping at least one Game Gear stage will be included in the 3DS version of Generations. Preferably from Chaos.

 

Sadly, I don't think that's going to happen. What's more likely is that it will go Sonic 1-3 & Knuckles, Sonic Advance 1-3, and finally Sonic Rush, Rush Adventure, and Sonic Colors DS.

 

That's the most likely scenario, yes. Kinda bites that they're skipping some good games, but I'm not gonna lose sleep over it.
