Franchise changing? I'm actually quite worried. D:

Im gonna go ahead and mirror 2 other members and state prequel, it would be "franchise-changing", but wouldnt effect the games TOO much seeing as SEGA/Sonic Team cant keep a straight story anyway. Outside of that, something regarding Archie or a new animation. For something new to throw onto the table, what if they switched from the Japanese story to one resembling the old Western story? Thats a bit out there but would make the announcement more of a shock then just the usual "Ok..lackluster.."

I'm gonna go with the hardware. If true, SEGA could really get back up there with the big 3 considering SEGA has usually had some powerful stuff (especially in their arcade machines).

If not that, then probably a division change in SEGA or something.

 

I don't think it'll be hardware or a division change... Why would it be posted on Blognik if it wasn't Sonic related?

The idea of a prequel scares me. God knows what SEGA's writers would do to sonic. =P

I mean, to be honest, Sonic just isn't quite Sonic without Sonic's Theme(s)

 

That would be so awesome if they could reuse the Sonic 1 and 2 theme. The Sonic 2 ending credits is just filled with epicness, mainly for the ending part

 

Agreed, last thing we need is another monster of the week set prior to the events of the original games, however, if done right (doubtful), it could be great. I hope its something else though, that idea is just too risky at current time.

 

Totally. Not Pixar, though - now, Animal Logic studios. That's where it's at. They'd really do something with it.

 

If it has no voices, the SEGA can do it just fine.
VE studios does pretty good work. Night of the Werehog was really well animated.
However, I doubt that something like that would be "Franchise changing"

 

Well its old news, but the only 'real' franchise changing thing they can do is make a sonic game that is a critical sucess
