I think he prob meant how the tails spin. If you twist your arms like Tails tails do, your hands go twisted. I have thought the same thing though.

first line I always thought why Tails tails do not go twisted when he flies. And 2nd line I found an idea and thought that Tails has some spinning platform on his butt that it lets the tails spin like so.

Not directly the game, but the manual of Sonic 2: There's a page that shows the final boss (the big Robotnik robo guy). The text on the page says something like "You need to defeat Dr. Ivo Robotnik and collect the 7 chaos emeralds" at the top of my head. Since I was never able to get to the final boss, I never fought him and thought Robotnik is a robot creating robot.

How his tails spin when flying/running is an entirely different matter. This is about how Tails' tails and Cream's ears don't move when they're in a ball. Cause seriously, that's weird even by Sonic standards.

  4. Thats not just Cream.

    Tails does the same thing.

When he spin-dashes the tails DON'T go with him!

...When he SPINS the tails don't go with him!

I always figured since the boy learned how to fly with an extraneous tail, he learned to defy other laws of reality as well. But when I was younger my brother had this neat clock that spun ridiculously fast, but you could see the time perfectly in an after image, so I always chalked it up to that when it came to Tails' tails.

As far as misconceptions? Lava balloons in Carnival Night and I always felt if player 2 was fast enough he could jump out and get to safe ground in Wing Fortress Zone. Other than 'Sonic clone' roller(which was only a fleeting few seconds because he ended up stopping for me long enough to die and for me to get a good look at him), I didn't have many. I was a logical kid.

...And as far as Sonic 2 and on is concerned, I didn't know of their existence until Mega Collection. Before then, only Sonic 1 kept me warm on those cold winter nights... :v:

Yes . . . You'll notice on re-reading, I hope, that Blue Blood specifically stated exactly that in the very sentence that you were responding to.
Anyway, it is strange, but the classic "Remember that we're talking about a game with a super speed blue hedgehog" caveat seems apt. :v:

No, I meant how the tails don't move when he's charging a spindash. I've also always thought that there's some kind of hole in the base of his spine (a la spina bifida, the disorder where one is born with or gains a hole in their spine) and it had a separate rotating platform from which his tails sprouted. But then again, how would his veins and arteries keep up without knotting and getting crushed together, like in the picture. I find that Tails is only there to perpetuate the myth that it's socially acceptable to insult intellectuals, and to insult freaks, and to combine the two.

  9. I came to the conclusion that Tails does not actually rotate his tails 360 degrees, but rather rotates them half a circle than whips them back the other way so fast that it only looks like they are rotating all the way around.

I didn't read the rest of the thread, but surely there is someone else who thought the bumpers in Casino Night were chillidogs. :P

I should sacrifice you to the great Maddox, but I won't.

Here's another: For a long time in Sonic 2, I couldn't figure out where the Chaos Emeralds were. I got so desperate that I actually tried to jump into the background to grab the little glowy lights. It MUST be called Emerald Hill for a reason! I did know about the Special Stage, but I thought it was only in 2P mode, and had nothing to do with collecting Emeralds. Well, after reading the manual, I discovered something: You could jump into the red rings of light that appeared over the starposts sometimes.

Yes, I thought the entrances to the special stages were just there for decoration. :specialed:

In regards to all this talk about Tails, maybe his tails are a separate entity.... *The X-Files music*

I don't get this thing. In Sonic 3 and knuckles, when you are in the Lava Reef zone, every time you fall down the hole (When Knuckles hits you with the rock) and you fall on the rings, you get extra life, but you had no 100 rings nor a score that gives you the life. What's with it? I played Sonic at TmEEs place for fun and then I realised that how did I get a life without having a 100 rings nor that amount of points. Then he played his round and exactly the same happened.

Back then I never thinked of this, I just thought I got some randomly a life and was happy and thought it's meant to be so. But now it made me think

I thought Angel Island only referred to the beach and adjacent forest, and that the whole island didn't have a name

That's actually how it was at the time, the island was called, "Floating Island" according to the manuals.

I think that was just a translation error. Besides, if it was meant to be only the name of the zone, they would call it Angel Jungle or something.

I must gladly admit I didn't do any stupid misinterpretations(back of the cover is your friend, even if you're 8), besides one error - thinking that I actually had to press start as 2P to control Tails. I also admit in shame that even playing co-op, me and my bro could never ever get the 7 emeralds. Still, beating bosses as indestructible Tails was fun. (and got us lazy enough to be unable to beat Robotnik at the end)
We also used to think that CPZ was inhumanely hard due to the Act 2 water moment, and that you need emeralds to beat the game.

By the way, most people seem to think that the name Eggman comes from the new games, but did anyone forget that in WFZ this name is all over the place?

Oh, I just remembered one more thing. My first encounter with Sonic was sadly, the NES pirate. I actually liked the game, despite the horrible glitches - no wonder that the original seemed awesomesauce to me later.
