The boxes are basically just TVs. =P I was thinking of turning labyrinth into ruins of sort, but not the same as marble zone in the original.
The new stuff's all looking great. It's a surprise to me, but this thing that seemed to start off as a joke has actually turned into one of the most exciting hacks around.
sadly, I didn't have enough tiles to work with when I was making the signpost (any more than the limit would cause the screen after the signpost to jumble up), so I had to cut the animation down to just spinning. The idea was ICEKnight's BTW.
Wow that snow level looks pretty nice. I always liked the idea of changing levels into something completely different from its former idea. Too many hacks retain the same look of the original making it feel essentially the same most of the time(something I'm guilty of as well :p ).
I like originality or at least art that no one has used yet in a hack. That's one of the things I don't like about a lot of hacks, a lot of them use the same compressed graphics (Like the Sonic CD buzzbomber, and the Sonic 3 rock in place of the one in greenhill). It's not that big a deal, but people need to try a little harder with their art.

I hope you're not basing them on the (extremely contrasted) unwatermarked pics I made for my site when I was still a newbie. I've seen those spread to many sites and they're in no way accurate.
Removing the level bonus emblems... That could work. =P The mountains aren't really done, I've been messing with them for a while now. I did base them off the contrasted pic, but I traced over it, so contrast should be in my hands now, but yeah, they're too dark.
Those are to mark where the water would scroll when you move. I have 2 and a half blocks from the bottom mountain block to work with until it scrolls. Basically, I was testing the GHZ deformation.
What you could do, if you want, is use dynamic art load cues similar to Sonic's for it, enabling you to use any number of frames, really.
I really can't wait to play this hack. It's like discovering Sonic all over again. ...And I don't know why, haha.

Oh well hey! What's that? I honestly couldn't figure out what the heck that stuff was on the sign in the prototype screen, so I had to make it up as I went. GHZ is FINALLY getting more work put into it, meaning new layouts are under construction, and to put it in the words of someone who tested it: "It's good, but so hard that it makes me want to punch babies in the face." =P Also, GHZ will NOT be the first level this time. GHZ will be one of the last levels.
You need to release a 1 level demo of this soon, I wanna see madonna in action. Finish up the first zone asap.
Awww, if you were keeping to your vision, surely it would be the first, but in the order as presented in the level select and sound test? GHZ > LZ > MZ > SLZ > SYZ > SBZ > Final Just a thought. Nonetheless, if your layout is a stern challenge without being really fucking cheap, I'll certainly enjoy it.
