Looks very nice alright - shame it's all gradiented

 

While the vector version does look very clean, I think that a soft, painterly style would be more appropriate for those images.

I'll probably try making my own version of them in the future.

 

How about a computerzied pencil-sketched version? Would that look good?

 

Yeah, I know my version is "too clean" but its in the db for all who want to edit the gradients, color, etc... I tried a simple but clean version, people can edit that to give a feel like the original if they want.

About the eyes...I didnt know it was looking to the sky... I mean, the spotlight in the back gave the image a "looking the sky" feel...who knows... xD.. As I said before, I uploaded the ultra hyper clean version to the db, its In concept art, so anyone that feels confident to edit that, I'll be grateful.

 

The problem is it's a flat gradient, rather than some sort of actual attempt at shading. Otherwise it looks fantastic. I was going to have a hand at it myself, but there's really no point in trying to improve that one.

 

But you can improve the shading, after all, I uploaded flat-gradient for that... I suck at manual shading, so, you know xD

The only thing I shaded is ...Tail's body, if you look at the "orange fur" ... some manual gradient shading is there.

 

I was thinking something like that, but no computerized, would somebody draw it?

Yes, your drawings are without any doubt the best ones we received up to now.

Please complete the resting ones!

 

I think the ending illustrations should be handmade.
They are imitating brush strokes and probably are going too look a bit strange in vector form.

 

I'll give it a shot if I get the time. I have tomorrow off, so...

 

Have got up off my lazy ass and updated my monitor art to no longer have 'stepped' shading, to match the new improved shading style for characters and objects. = ) Changes include new shading on both the broken and unbroken monitor, new borders for the monitor icons, an improved shield icon and my own attempt at a Speed Shoes icon (with and without a strap).



As always, comments and criticisms are appreciated; I want to be able to achieve the same high standard of work as the other contributors have been making. = )

Apologies if this is the wrong topic for this, BTW; since the monitor art I did is already in the opening post, I assumed posting this version in the approved topic was OK. If not, please could a mod move this to the appropriate topic?

 

Looking good. Also, maybe for a nice extra, you could add a small shine on the screen, to make it look like the window is glass.

The monitor base has already been approved, yes. Glad to see you're taking it further for the new HD treatment! A few of the monitor icons have already been revamped, so you may want to check out the latest updates on the speed shoes if you're looking to continue work on that piece. I have to agree with the glass suggestion, sounds like it could be a great touch.
