    This reminds me of a hack I've always wanted to do; port Awesome Possum into Sonic 2, shitty controls and all. I'd try, but the voice samples probably wouldn't fit in the ROM ;v

    It's still in the early stages, I've only been working on it for 2 days and just have the basics down for the foreground. I'm trying to come up with a tree design and flower design, and once those are in place I'll use all the remaining tiles adding detail to the ground art.

    I've been waiting so long for this to happen (I've seen so many conceptual screenies of this idea but sadly none of the projects seem to have been released).

    Well ahead of you, it's already been done and implemented, along with all the other music from S1 SMS.

    Maybe you could add some details on the fence. It looks like it was just stretched to the genesis resolution. Otherwise, that background is awesome.

    Bridge, Jungle and Sky Base will all be getting 16 bit zone remakes, complete with their respective music, along with 4 completely new zones and all the original S1 zones. On top of that, there'll be a mode to play the game with all the original layouts, including accurate recreations of the SMS zones, and another mode for playing new layouts of them all.

    I so can't wait for this. It's been a bit of a dream of mine to see some proper decent 16 bit versions of the 8 bit zones. By the way. Do you have any plans to do the ones from Sonic 2 SMS? Most of the exclusive zones for that game are at the top of my list of favourite design, especially Gimmick Mt zone and Scrambled Egg zone.

    The background is beautiful..


    ..but the foreground contrasts terribly. Looks really under-detailed at the moment, and a bit plastic-y.

    Except the fact that it never got from beyond the mockup stage back in 2008 and never had a proper foreground, this is actually in game now.

    As for the foreground being under-detailed, as I said before, it's still a WIP, I was concentrating on getting the background in so I knew what kind of space I had for foreground tiles.
