My Dad once set up an emulator (dGen) with a bunch of MegaDrive games on there. As well as Sonic 1, 2 and 3 there was also Sonic 2 Beta and Sonic Crackers. I thought that Sonic 2 Beta was a mis-spelling of 'Better' and mistook it for the full game and the version I'd been playing on my MegaDrive for years was just a demo. It didn't have Wood Zone and the title screen sure was different so it clearly wasn't everything. As for Sonic Crackers, I thought that game was rubbish and decided I wouldn't buy it.

It's probably been said by someone else, but I personally mispronounced Knuckles's full title as "Knuckles the Enchilada".

Dude, I was just thinking of making a topic today on how there's goddamn faces in Sonic 1, 2, 3K, CD (In particular, I should know!), and many of the Genesis Sonic titles. I wonder if the Mods would approve of this.

On topic: I thought that Hidden Palace's music in the sound test was for some part of alternate ending for Sonic 2.

When I first saw Robotnik, I thought he was meant to be an evil chef.

Like many, I thought Roller was Knuckles when I was younger. I don't know why I would at this point, but I did. I also thought "Chao" was pronounced "Chaa-hoe". When I first played Sonic Adventure, when it said "Chaos 0" I thought it was telling me how many Chao I had. I even thought "Why would they tell me this at such a random time?". God I miss being a kid.

My first exposure to Sonic was with Sonic & Knuckles Collection, which included Sonic 3. It never occurred to be until later that there was also a Sonic 2 and Sonic 1, and when I did finally get them at a garage sale a couple years later, I was quite surprised. :/

Man I always thought things like that...I thought that Crackers was the "next" Sonic game or something like Sonic 4 when I discover the rom on a cd with the "full romset". But I never knew much about Chaotix because neither the Mega CD or the 32x wasnt much popular here in Uruguay.

    Also: My Avatar FTW.

I pronounce Hydrocity as "high-dross-itty" and Casinopolis as "casino-opolis".
    Force of habit.

I thought that the videos in the Sega CD and PC version of Sonic CD would be the same quality as the ones on Sonic Mega Collection.

I watched the Mega Collection versions first.

Before Sonic Heroes was released, I pronounced Chaotix as "chow-ticks."

When I first saw the Segasonic arcade screens, I swore up and down that Tails and Ray were brothers. Hell, I still think that there is too much similarity to be a coincidence.

I'm guilty when it comes to this, though I had more time on the clock. This is how my friend and I made it pass CN Act 2 for the first time. :v:
Also I used to call Sonic 2 "Sonic 2 The Hedgehog".

  14. Same here on Hydrocity, because Sonic Team couldn't have just said "Hydro City Zone".

You're supposed to shampoo your Chao regularly, so that doesn't happen...

When I was little, I though that when you hitted Robotnick in sonic 1 8 bit for Master System, it transformed into a brown cow.

See that thing in the center of the circle? The gap between the cape flaps?

I used to think it was a tooth sticking out in a cartoony fashion.

I also thought that the cape flap was the bottom half of Eggman's head.

Buck-toothed Sonic 3 Dr. Robotnik was an important part of my childhood. I was baffled when I discovered otherwise when introduced to less fuzzy images on emulators. I have recently been floored again by learning Hyrdo City is pronounced Hydrocity. In fact, it is Hydrocity, but it will forever be Hydro City to me. :flunked:

Ohohohoho, you shouldn't have said that. Every time someone says something that sounds creepy as hell, I WILL DO IT.

Good night. Sleep tight. Don't let the ghosts and goblins get you. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Anyways, what did I mess up on?

I used to call Rouge "Rogue". Seems to be a common mistake among young Sonic fans.

I thought Spring Yard Zone was also called Flying Battery Zone (Having never played sonic&knux until I was 10). Always thought the rectangular platforms were giant batteries.
