I love Digital Foundry, but these Let's Plays with people who aren't from Digital Foundry never work. Everyone can tell you Sonic 06 sucks - it's the PS3/360 comparisons with technical analysis that make the channel stand out. I don't need to see fully grown men make noises as they stuggle to play video games. Learn, then start recording.
i really would have preferred an actual analysis versus a df retro play. literally skip all of their lets plays for that reason.
Not sure if this is the best place for this question, maybe the "Lounge" or a new thread is better, but this is Sonic related, so... I'll be travelling to Japan next week for pleasure, and there for a couple weeks, dividing my time between Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. Does anyone know of any specific places or things related to Sonic that I should check out while I'm there? I'm not familiar with these cities whatsoever. If proximity is highly relevant, we'll be around the Aman in Tokyo/Kyoto, but still haven't reserved for Osaka yet (eek!).
I hope to visit Japan one day... But there's the infamous Sonic SegaWorld statue on the side of the road in Hill Country (90 mins east of Osaka according to Polygon). Be a nice short photo opportunity!
As far as I know, Tokyo Joypolis on Odaiba still has the Sonic Carnival area, plus lots of merch in the shop. Outside of that though, Sonic-specific stuff is thin on the ground I believe.
I remember this cover, oh the nostalgia. What I don’t remember is “marketing support.” What? That seems more suited for a press release. Also lol 3 games in one, so disingenuous. More like 1 game then the same game split into 2 parts (with one just removing the save system because eh, who needs to save in & Knuckles I guess) lol
Nice, clean, simple cover, but looking at it up close, it kinda bugs me that they didn't take 5-10 more minutes to clean up the edges around Sonic and Knuckles after pasting them on the cover.
