Honestly, if such a thing is detailed, I imagine it'd be retconned to have Vector be the original detective, given his status as team leader of the Chaotix since Heroes.
Assuming that's still canon, since the manuals are being ignored now for new stories. If they do, kinda curious if they'll try and figure out how to implement Vector's belief in God. Considering how often the actual Gods turn up, like Solaris, the Gaia, etc, wouldn't surprise me if he just pointed to that and said "if they exist, so can God."
No no, you see...after 5 years, it will just be the 35th anniversary special for all of em again, so you can go forever with 5 years cycles for every character, it's perfect.
The cover is showcasing events from the entire comic so far. Don't read anything in it as "look who's back".
Well he is "back" in some sense (in the past or another dimension or whatever). I'm not expecting Starline's corpse to make an appearance any time soon (or ever). He is pretty good.
Looks nice, though it's a shame the way the logo obscures some of the art. It almost looks like it was drawn with the idea that Espio, Tangle and the "900th Adventure" banner would all slightly overlap the logo, but instead the logo's just been slapped on top. It's a stunning cover though - lovely design, great artwork and use of colour. Very eye-catching! = )
It’s a comic book, so he’ll obviously come back to life due to some contrived asspull sooner or later
Ian did say he’s left an out, and we never saw a body, so… As much as I love him, though, I’d rather he stay dead. He went through a complete and satisfying arc and while it wouldn’t be impossible to keep telling stories with him, I feel like he’d end up just settling into a status quo.
Aah, but, this is a comic book... Jokes aside he absolutely, 100% should stay dead because his story was very good and very complete, but that's not really how the medium work, isn't it? I'll admit I'm a novice when it comes to american comic books but the last twenty years of superhero schlock have left me rather jaded in regards to complete and fulfilling character arcs. I'd be genuinely surprised if the good doctor stayed dead for real, lol
Thing is the only character whose death the Sonic series has actually reneged on is Shadow. Everybody else has stayed buried so I’m not expecting Starline to come back.
Walking back the death within the same story is obviously not what they were talking about, come on. Don't be pedantic about it.
I was joking. It depends on what part of the series we're talking about. Death doesn't really come up in the games outside of the Adventure era anyway, but if we look at the comics then you've got cases like Sally Acorn during Endgame and such. As for Starline, I rather like this approach of him being dead, but still messing with Surge mentally: for all we know he's Jokering it (cookie if you understand the reference) with her.
I kinda like dead characters staying dead... (One of my unpopular opinions is that Shadow should've stayed dead... as much as I like him) But, if they do bring Starline back, I think it should be a long time from now. No sooner than Issue 100.
