Does anyone know who composed the SEGA startup jingle?

I'd like to see the modern Sega start up combined with the retro "SEEEGAAA" jingle

If they did bring back the old logo jingle, one way to keep it fresh would be to make variations of the jingle in instrumentation. Kinda like what Sonic Spinball did, but on a regular basis with each of their games:

That would be a nice hybrid of the old and new.

  3. Oh man now it seems like such a missed opportunity that Sonic Generations didn't do this.

Welp, looks like we've got a much older Sega commercial to track down now--one advertising Samurai.

Pretty sure it's in Sonic All Stars Racing (TRANSFOOOOOORMED). Although its accompanied by a revving engine, but its definitely the same jingle otherwise

There's also a fan-singing of "SU-MO" in the credits of the game (that some of Retro may or may not have participated in =P), but I'm not sure that counts.

Given the fact that the SEGA voice (interestingly, sounds identical to the one in S1) existed in 1983, I think it's highly likely that the SEGA jingle was meant as a direct instrumental version of the voice (chord and all), and thus is basically one and the same.
